Wednesday's Loose Lingerie was packed with good stuff yet again and drew record Rontvian audiences, with 99.6% of the country said to have been tuning in at home, work, or in pubs...12.30-1.30 is now the national lunch hour in FSR Rontvia where all shops are closed for the hour to allow everyone to have access to the show. The first guest on the show was Herzebania's rejects competitor, the Swedish diva Carola. Carola, well known for her diva attitude, refused to perform her entry Pride (In The Name Of Love) having been told that she could not perform her new single on the show which is exclusively for Best Of and Rejects songs for the duration of the current series. In a sensational interview, Maria and Mira correctly corrected Carola that the country she was visiting was indeed called FSR Rontvia and not Rontvania or Rintvia as Carola had been calling it in the past. Carola said 'names aren't important to me, it's faces that I remember'. Mira questioned Carola about her rocky relationship with Andreas Johnson, with whom she had bee due to perform with in BJSCVIII before a late entry change. Carola said 'why are you asking me about this? this is not in my contract' and in a classic Loose Lingerie twist, Maria and Mira brought out Andreas, the former FSR Rontvia representative. Carola stormed off the stage to mass booing from the audience.

 

The quality was quickly brought back to the show though when former Quotosibb winner made the crowd erupt when she performed Black Butta. Beverley then had a 'question time with the audience' in which one audience member asked if she would ever consider returning to the BJSC. Beverley replied 'I would certainly consider it, I would love it if Quotosibb would accept me to sing for them again but I would be quite happy to represent any country, apart from Camtoro and Leonville, I don't agree with their moral stance on certain participation issues'.

The audience were then treated to one of the Best Of contest favourites, Lady Gaga, who performed one of her 2nd placed BJSC entries, Torchwood's Paparazzi. The audience gave the rising star a standing ovation, but Gaga had to rush off for other performances so had no time for a chat. In the meantime, Maria and Mira played a new game 'Do you want this job', in which they randomly called three audience members up to the stage to sell a carefully selected product to the hosts. One of the contestants managed to convincingly sell Mira a diamond watch and was indeed offered a job, to be the new buyer for Maria and Mira's stage props. Current stage props of course include a leopard skin rug, a blue vase and a rainbow coloured sofa for the guests to sit on.

The show had many other highlights, including a 'guess the BJSC song' where audience members had to guess the BJSC song that was being played in reverse. Contestants correctly identified 'Into The Nightlife' and 'Headhunted' but failed to correctly guess 'Angels Brought Me Here' and didn't therefore win any prizes. Wednesday's show closed with a very special performance of Pull Shapes by The Pipettes, sporting their new line up but sounding as great as ever. Some bookmakers have slashed the odds on a Pipettes win, with a top ten finish looking increasingly likely for the trio!

Maria and Mira retain creative control of Loose Lingerie at all times and refuse to change clearly stipulated rules for anyone! It was fairly obvious that they would bring Andreas on :heehee: they like to put a spanner in the works at all possible opportunities! Lorikeet diva Tisha Martin today commenteed on yesterday's appearance on Loose Lingerine in FSR Rontvia, saying "Maria and Mira were fantastic, they are fabolous and so funny and witty. I'd love to appear again someday and love to duet with one of them on my solo album! My only dissapointment was not to appear on the same day as my idol and best friend Beverley Knight.

Meanwhile in the Kingdom of Shadow, 'Loose Lingerie' is becomine a huge cult show with some 1,200 going online and streaming the show from a neighbouring country's satellite. The King has admitted this illegal behaviour is very difficult to crack down on and, after viewing the opening shows in the latest series, has offered Rontvian Broadcasters £1.1 million pounds to gain the rights to air the show on SBC 2 and SBC 2+1 starting from the 18th November. It is also believed the King is offering to donate an 'undisclosed amount' of money to the charity of Rontvia's choice if Margaret Berger and Sophie Ellis-Bextor could appear on this show to boost the opening audience figures in the great Kingdom. Both singers are believed to be in the country on this date anyway as they prepare to perfrom in the S&M tour on the 19th.

:o I've never seen that performance, only the Jools Holland one, it stops randomly at around the 4 minute mark for me. :( I'd love to actually see her perform it live, I really regret not getting into her until after the tour was over as it's unlikely she'll perform an album track on her next tour. :(

I've been trying to find alternative performances for this show, although it is not always easy...Black Butta is certainly a great song, and would have surely been an excellent single choice for Beverley, it's a great shame that it wasn't one

Agreed, it should have been the lead single. But if the (imo) lovely "No Man's Land" can miss the top 40 I guess anything by her would. -_-

I'm sure this would have done better than No Man's Land, I thought that was very poor if I'm being honest :o

Loose Lingerie Thursday Highlights

 

Another day, another fun packed show from the hosts with the mosts, Maria Haukaas Storeng and Mira Craig. With huge viewing figures coming out all over the Buzzjack World, the show has to go from strength to strength and the two ladies put on a star filled show earlier today. It kicked off with a highly anticipated live performance from United States Of Russiatron's Best Of representative with the huge hit single Paper Planes. Although the single was only a low top ten hit when it originially appeared in the BJSC, it has been tipped to perform far better in the Best Of. MIA put her absolute all into the performance and got a huge reception from the audience!

Possibly the world's biggest star, Rihanna, came on next for an interview with Maria and Mira. The star, who represented Juranabaijan along with Maroon 5 with the song If I Never See Your Face Again in the BJSC, failed to qualify for the Best Of competition, although she has reached the Rejects competition with Don't Stop The Music. Maria asked 'how will you feel if you win the rejects?' to which Rihanna replied 'I don't feel like a reject, I'm surprised Don't Stop The Music never qualified for the final, it was a huge worldwide hit. There was talk of it being cheap though, so I doubt it could win to be honest. It's a shame If I Never See Your Face Again didn't make the Best Of but that's more Maroon 5's song than mine, I was just happy to contribute vocals to it'. Mira asked Rihanna 'are you ever going to take a break? you seem to release more singles than tATu have had vodka bottles'. Rihanna said, 'I hope the public don't mind, it may seem like I'm always in everyone's face but that's because I so what I like and I like what I do...as soon as one of my Good Girl Gone Bad singles misses the UK top 40, I'll stop releasing singles from it...how does that sound?'. The crowd were in awe of the singer who treated them to an acapella chorus of new single Rehab.

 

Dalisska's Rejects entrant, Marie Digby, then performed her former BJSC entry, Say It Again, a huge hit in Rontvia reaching No.4 in the weekly chart. It is also No.57 in the Rontvian year to date chart with sales of 325,685 so far. These sales are likely to increase even further after Marie delivered a stunning performance to the crowd before Mira asked her some infamous 'Lingerie quick fire questions'. 'Do you get tired of being such a safe singer Marie, it seems like you're just dying to just get on the dancefloor.' Marie replied, 'well I got noticed by covering Rihanna's Umbrella, surely the biggest club tune of the past few years! I'm so glad I got to meet Rihanna today, she's an idol of mine! On my next album I might do an electro-punk cover of Smack Me!' she joked to an adoring audience! Marie is currently one of the hot favourites to reach the final of the rejects competition.

Maria and Mira then made the audience erupt into fits of laughter as they reviewed specially hand picked singles from 'Bargain Basement Rontvia', a shop that specialises in records by huge selling artists that failed to make the top ten. Mira was on top form reviewing Anastacia's I Can Feel You. 'What the hell is this, she's gone from powerhouse diva to Andy Abraham backing singer in one severely misguided career choice!' The show ended with a very special performance from Ojnoj's Gavin Mikhail. He is due to represent the country in BJSCXII with Brave but sang his Rejects entry, Fight The Sky to end the show, the highly regarded male singer receiving a standing ovation from the crowd! Carola To Sue Loose Lingerie

 

A inside source told the Herzebanian press association this morning that superstar Carola plans to take legal action against the makers of FSR Rontvian hit show "Loose Lingerie" after her public humiliation yesterday, when former singing partner Andreas Johnson surprised her live on air.

 

"She is not happy," the source told us, "as she made clear boundaries prior to agreeing on the show, which she feels were crossed by Maria and Mira yesterday."

 

"The appearance was supposed to boost her profile and promote her greatest hits album, but instead she came out of it looking like a fool, and she is after blood."

 

Things seem to be going from bad to worse for the diva; not only has her greatest hits album seen very poor sales (the first week sales in the Buzzjack world were beaten by the hits collection by Canned Heat), but rumours are circulating that she has failed to recieve a single vote to date in the BJSC rejects competition.

 

Andreas Johnson was quoted as saying, "It was meant to be a nice surprise but I guess it backfired a little. I thought all the wounds had healed since the contest but obviously not."

 

Despite Carola's embarrassment, or more likely because of it, ratings for Loose Lingerie have soared in Herzebania, with the late night repeat of yesterday's show gaining 500% on the previous day, and today's show being the most watched programme in the country.

A message from the Rontvian TV Network

 

In light of Swedish diva Carola planning to sure Maria and Mira, and indeed endangering the future of Loose Lingerie, the hosts and production staff would like to remind Carola of what she was told earlier in the week when she first arranged her appearance:

 

Carola is more than welcome to perform Pride (In The Name Of Love) but she may not promote any new single and Maria and Mira will not be told what questions they can and cannot ask...

 

The contract that Carola signed before appearing on Loose Lingerie clearly stated that they are permitted to do what they like with their guests, could ask whatever they liked and bring on any guest stars that they wished to. Carola did not thoroughly read through this contract, merely signing her name after arriving at the studio late and walking straight onto the stage. Maria and Mira cannot and will not be held repsonsible for this woman's blatant ignorance, but would like to wish her all the best for the future and is more than welcome to come back onto the next series of the show, in December, to perform any new single that she wishes, and to clear the air live on air.
