is it just me who wants Out From Under as a 3rd single...its the best and safe choice for keeping album sell.

Nope :D I love it and think it would be a great 3rd choice! So under rated with the people who heard it when it leaked :(

SPEARS SOARING: Based on one-day sales reports, though it’s still early, Britney Spears’ Jive/ZLG album Circus, which hit the streets today, is on track to exceed expectations. Originally, pundits had it pegged at around 300k, but initial retailer feedback indicates it could go much higher. Give credit to radio airplay, stellar reviews, the MTV documentary and a widely seen performance on ABC’s Good Morning America, where she announced her upcoming tour, for the positive results. (HDD)
Next week’s chart is all about Jive/ZLG’s Britney Spears, whose new Circus album hit the streets on Tuesday and, from preliminary reports, is exceeding all expectations, with a flurry of positive press, an MTV documentary, an announced tour and a performance on Good Morning America that wowed Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts. Also on tap, the new album from SRC/Universal Motown’s Akon, Freedom. (Hits)

I like this album actually, by far a better album than Blackout.

'Amnesia', 'Rock Me In' and 'Phonography' are easily 3 of the best on here though, I'm mystified as to why they are bonus tracks. Oh, and 'Trouble' as well.

I agree! But the whole album is just

Any info on how it's performing in Early mid's in America? :D

I'm not so keen on 'Blur', 'Mmm Papi' and 'My Baby'. But aside from that yeah... it's all good! :o

Blur is the weakest track on the album...Mmm Papi is a definite grower...and I think only fans will like 'My Baby', it's a nice ballad...I like the melody and her voice sounds good.

And there is no update as of yet John...

From HITS:

Britney might not want to call her latest release a comeback, but whatever you dub it, her new Jive/ZLG album Circus is soaring past all expectations.

Thanks to a barrage of good publicity for a change, the pop star, who just celebrated her 27 th birthday yesterday with a performance on ABC’s Good Morning America, will debut at #1 on next week’s HITS Album Sales chart with a total that seems to be in excess of 450k, and very capable of climbing even higher.

First-day sales were brisk for the album, coming on the heels of MTV’s highly rated documentary, Britney: For the Record, a Rolling Stone cover story and surprisingly rave reviews. Hey, the media owes her.

With initial guesstimates in the 350k range, Spears appears to be blowing away first-week expectations. Based on first day sales reports, the album seems poised to top the recent first week total of this week’s #1, Kanye West, and, possibly, even Beyonce.

Meanwhile SRC/Universal Motown’s Akon, fresh off a hit single, will be the next highest debut of the week in the 80-90k range, while Asylum rapper (and one-time Geto Boy) Scarface looks to scare up some 30-40k in sales.

The market was up 29% vs. last week, thanks to Black Friday, basically flat vs. the same week last year and still down 14% year to date.

Mmm Papi is amazing after a few listens..Blur still sucks.

WOAH! So the album has sold around 300k - 450k in a day? Or is that what they are expecting it to sell by the end of the week? :o

It's OK! I read the other thread :kink:

Has anyone noticed how 'Rock Me In' is quite similar to 'Catch You' (Sophie Ellis-Bextor)? Both awesome tracks though obviously.

Also has anyone noticed how Madonna-like 'Circus' is? Its sound is similar to '4 Minutes' and lyrically its exactly the sort of song you could imagine her doing.

I'm impressed.

I hated Blackout with a passion.

But this album is excellent.

My Favorites: Womanizer, Circus, Shattered Glass, If You Seek Amy, Rock Me In, Amnesia, Quicksand.

Quicksand was my favorite from the first listen, and Amnesia went from 3 Stars to 5 rather fast on my iPod.

I don't care much for Unusual You, Blur, Mmm Papi and My Baby. The rest is pretty average I guess.

It does!! :o I was just listening to it earlier and trying to figure out what song it sounded like!

Oh yeah, I finally picked up a copy of the deluxe version today! :D

Guh. D: I want to say I like this album a lot but the majority of the songs I like are bonus tracks. =/

The only ones I like from the album are Womanizer, Circus, If U Seek Amy, Kill the Lights, and Unusual You...

Yet in terms of bonus tracks I adore Trouble, Phonography, Amnesia, Quicksand, Rock Me In.

I am, ultimately, disappointed with it. Jive should be gang raped in the face, as well. Srsly, who decides these track listings? Those 10 songs plus Out From Under + My Baby since everyone seems to loff those two would have made a great album. =/

maybe thats why i love it so much :D way better than womanizer i think :D

My thoughts on the album ;) ...

1. Womanizer - 8/10 ... wasn't sure on first listen, but got into my veins, its so addictive!

2. Circus - 9/10 ... one of my faves on the album.

3. Out from Under - 8/10 ... another fave, love the lyrics and one of her best ballads ever.

4. Kill The Lights - 9/10 ... Love the attitude in this one. This took me a couple of listens but now really enjoy it.

5. Shattered Glass - 8/10 ... This took me a few listens to get into but I like it alot!

6. If You Seek Amy - 9/10 ... Loved this from the first listen, incredibly infectious, gotta be a single!

7. Unusual You - 10/10 ... LOVE this, can't find fault with it! Single please!!

8. Blur - 8/10 ... the morning after the night before! I quite like this one.

9. Mmm Papi - 4/10 ... Don't like this one, its lacking something major for me and even then I don't think it'd be a favourite.

10. Mannequin - 8/10 ... Again a few listens before it got into my veins!

11. Lace & Leather - 8/10 ... Good song, I like it, but not really a standout track for me.

12. My Baby - 8/10 ... Gorgeous little ballad, love its simplicity.

Bonus Tracks

Rock Me In - 9/10 ... Love it! Gets into your head!

Phonography - 9/10 ... Britney you flirt :P Love this!

Amnesia - 10/10 ... Absolutely adore this! Its pop at its absolute best! Again should defo be on the standard edition album!!!!

Rock Boy - 5/10 ... Doesn't really grab you, a bit boring and nothing special.

Quicksand - 9/10 ... Bit of a slower number, but not lacking anything. Another song that should of been on the proper album.

Trouble - 9/10 ... Like this ... alot! Amazing use of the Madonna sample ;)

Overall Opinion :

AMAZING album. I've never been an all out fan [i've brought a couple of the albums and singles], but this has made me a proper fan. Excellent stuff, one of my fave albums this year. Having watched For The Record and now having brought the album, I've gained a level of respect for her I didn't have before. So major props to Britney. The one fault with the album ... the bonus tracks are amazing and it seems mad to me that they aren't on the standard edition, its just insane to leave them out from a wide release!

Im a bit confused with the whole album tracklisting thing as i thought the normal album had 13 songs on it (the last song being Radar), but i picked up a copy in HMV yesterday and it had 14 tracks on it (including Amnesia)

These are the similarities I've found from the CIRCUS tracks and other songs:

Womanizer - not that different from anything she's done from Blackout. It's some sort of new Ooh Ooh Baby mixed with Radar and Gimme More.

Circus - It's a song that reminds me of Madonna's Bedtime Stories days (and probably Hard Candy as well).

Out From Under - Hmmm... isn't this extremely similar to I Run Away from the Britney album?

Shattered Glass - How Rachel Stevens of her  Seriously, it's on par with the likes of So Good and Negotiate With Love, imo.

Unusual You - This is soooo similar to And Then We Kiss, which is amazing! I very much loved And Then We Kiss in 2005/2006!

Blur - It's obvious, both lyrically and musically is similar to Early Mornin', one of my definite favourites from In The Zone. I like Blur a lot, and just like Early Mornin', I find it highly underrated.

Hmm Papi - A mix between Freakshow and Toy Soldier: loud, messy but completely enjoyable.

Lace And Leather - Very early Britney-ish! It very much reminds me to Thinkin' About You from her debut album ...Baby One More Time.

My Baby - It sounds early Britney but not similar to any song in particular.

Rock Me In - Girls Aloud anyone? This could've well been written and produced by Xenomania, it definitely has that style. A perfect mix between Models (how was this denied a release!?!?!?) and Wake Me Up.

Phonography - This reminds me to Madonna's Super Pop, only a million times better. This has single written all over it, a shame it's only a bonus track.

Amnesia - As cute and perfectly poppy as Madonna's True Blue. A 1000000/10 pop song.

Rock Boy - Why don't cha Do Somethin'? Seriously, it so much reminds me to that song!!!

Trouble - Get Together, duh!
