Is this the first time they've 'de luxed' Spirit? I'm sure there's already been a de luxe one earlier this year.

I would love it to go #1, but it's released physically the same week as The X Factor winner. So I guess Top 3. :D

Spirit was released as a standard album this time last year, then had 2 extra tracks tagged onto it for the US release to make it more appealing to the American market (which obviously worked...) and now they're re-releasing it with the 2 extra tracks from the US release, Run and the single edits of Better In Time, Footprints In The Sand and apparently a different version of Whatever It Takes.

Oooh, I was buying it anyway but now i'm going to buy it even more! If that makes sense... :unsure: :(

This should be fairly big after her performance on the X Factor last night, should easily be top5 if not better.

For those interested, promotion will indeed continue for Run, Leona performed it on Diva's II, due to be aired next Sunday on ITV1. ^_^

Hmm i'm not sure. If they really wanted it to be #1, then they'd have surely released the download at midnight? Nahh. I'm guessing Syco are using it as a tool for people who've already bought Spirit, and people who never were that inclined to buy Spirit, to do so now. I kinda feel it's a bit cheap from Syco getting people to just buy the same album [the same with all re-releases really] with only a few new/remastered tracks, just so they can make more money from an already very popular album.

There is hysteria surrounding this song which i find ridiculous. It's just a cover ppl! Very competently sung (her performance was good), but with forgive me just out and no real airplay or promotion yet 1 performance is not going to land it at no1. If This is earmarked as a single and gets proper radio support and a physical, i'd revisit it, but while it will prob chart next week on cherrypicks, it will more sell the album and i don't see it going top10 this sun. And it won't be coz ppl weren't able to d/l it til tomorrow, that really isn't going to have made a very big difference

Number 1 on Irish iTunes. Also I am now starting to think it was a mistake to release 'Forgive Me' instead of 'Misses Glass' MG is fantastic! I forgot how good it was until I listened to the clip on the iRish iTunes :lol:

Uh? How is it going to miss the top10? Come on if some people are hysterical then your lurching to the other extreme! It'd only take 0.3% of the 11+ million people who watched her performance on Saturday to download it during the week for 35k sales more than enough to ease into the top10! ;)

 

Given how critically well received this has been, not to mention the exposure on the X Factor and the karaoke versions zooming up iTunes I'd be very surprised if it doesn't shift well over 70k this week.

If any song looses out on one days sales its obviously going to have an effect as all the other songs at the top end have had an extra days sales compared to the later release.

Breathtaking performance. I don't know how anyone could do ANY song better. Certainly showed up the current bunch of hopefuls (and MC from last week !! ). It left me speechless Saturday, not often Simon is so completely blown away. I predicted Friday it would be No1 but I'll change my mind... like lots of others have done if the voting/poll is anything to go by...... I now predict number 1 before anyone can blink once its released. Awesome song by SP, arranged and sung to perfection by the very gifted Leona. Should be an unstoppable combination.
