I dont get the UK chart success or lack of it here is the chart-run 67-46-{28}-35-37-40-28-33-31-33-41-51-62-63-66-63-69->17. <_<

I mean it peaked at Number 28. I know it kind of propelled the album to top the chart but didnt garner great sales.

Its a amazing tune and has been a massive hit in nearly every european country hitting Number 1 in Holland Austria and being huge in a practically every country its been released in.

I definetely think she should be up there with Duffy,Adele,Amy W. She is actually probably bigger atm in Europe.

I just cant believe its lack of success in her native country.

17 weeks in the top75 isn’t a disaster, a consistent trickle of sales. I guess at the beginning of the year she was somewhat overshadowed by Adele and Duffy. It certainly helped the album and that’s what sustains record deals. Perhaps a strong lead single from a second album could provide her with a singles breakthrough.
To be honest I think it should be rereleased after how huge it's been in Europe. I actually see her as different from Adele and Duffy, more like a version of Katie Melua that's actually good...
I respect the girl anyway for being self-taught, and not just another pupil chucked in by the BRITs school. Besides, to sell well these days you don't even need a high peak.

I defintely think a re-release with enough exposure it could be a smash.

I agree that duffy and Adele are different more retro soul/bluesy. I think Amy is way more folky which is v popular in europe. Look at how huge the folky all good things by Nelly Furtado  was.

I just think she perhaps did get lost in the kind of brit invasion of US that a few females had.

Hopefully the second album she will get the recognition in the Uk she has in Europe  :cheer:
