I'm not convinced. I was all set for Laura Marling, but the prospect of a third consecutive top 5 is quite tempting and I think Laura would send me back into the bottom half of the board. (or a NQ) So now I'll probably try too hard and send something incredibly cheap and flop anyway. My top 5 entries have all come when I wasn't expecting them, so I need to change my mindset. :lol:

Agreed on that first point. My instict for Superhuman was top 10 and my instinct for Dumb was somewhere near the bottom, both did the opposite.

I remember the good old days when you, Pavel and me were all one hit wonders :( Now it's just me, on my own, destined to finish in the mid-teens for eternity :cry:

You're the definition of one hit wonder with your win, and only top 10, being voted the best entry to the contest so far. :lol: I don't know where my string of hits, you wait ages to reappear in the top 10 and then it happens twice in a row. I'd want another top 5, but I have to remember that my last two entries were just lucky and I belong in our one hit wonder club really. :P

 

I think I may have missed the boat with Laura, her album is quite 'old' in the scheme of things. Then again, so was 'Kala' when I sent Jimmy'. :thinking:

Those are quite good points actually. I never saw my top 5 finishes coming, I was expecting boredline top 10, like Santogold, at best. The second point is very true as well. I put the most into BJSC VII with a NF and everything and it gave me my worst result. Sara was a 'give me advice on these songs' and that was my second worst result. Then with my 'hits', I sort of knew what to send from M.I.A. and Santogold but I gave a few options. The Robyn song was sort of shown to me by Ben and I absolutely knew I was sending Beverley. It seems the less I ask for help, the better I do. :lol:

Very true, i put alot of thought into my entry into BJSCX and was highly indecisive, it was ridiculous i like confirmed then got a load of negative thoughts about the song etc.

 

So i decided to throw my weight behind NGDA and it DNQ'd

I always find it hard to predict how I'll do, the only one I was CERTAIN would come top ten which did was Pixie

 

this is how I thought my entries would do:

 

I: Delta (didn't predict anything, wasn't into the contest enough)

II: Natasha (thought it might have come top ten to be honest)

III: Andreas (thought it would be mid-table)

IV: Sara (too busy thinking about dissertations, I entered it purely because it was my favourite song at the time e.g. No.1 in my chart...I didn't even consider how well other people would perceive it)

V: Sibel (thought it would come about 13th)

VI: Untouched (thought the self-hype would have made it flop, I'm glad it didn't though!)

VII: Maria & Mira (expected about 12th, so did most of the odds!)

VIII: Thermostatic (this was a risk, I expected nothing and everything)

IX: Sanna (thought top ten was a possibility)

X: Mira (thought it was a guaranteed top five, and a possible winner) :rofl:

XI: Pixie (thought there would be something wrong if this didn't go top ten...I never expected top three though until the last few odds came in)

Maybe I should go with the Dixie Chicks, Beverley Knight or Margaret Berger as they are the only available artists with a 100% win record left, since Brandy and t.A.T.u. are set to return this time. :kink: Except I wouldn't do that, Dixie Chicks aren't my thing, Margaret has one decent song imo and I'm not a fan of recycling my own artists.
