Interesting semi's there, Pink & Sanna both did very well in their semi i see.

 

What happened to Brandy though? I guess she just must have got a lot of smaller points in BJSC10 and therefore not that many points in this.

the top 3 of BJSCVIII was reversed as well, Ladyhawke did best, Little Jackie 2nd and Lily Allen 3rd

 

I'm surprised I Believe by Tata Young didn't make the final of this or even the stage before this...that was very close to winning BJSCVIII and had an awful lot of fans I seem to recall...

Quite disappointed with 24th placing of Gomenasai, but it's overally not that bad considering it's the Best Of :D

I appreciate it must be hard/stressful to host this, but "without your own entry to make you give a $h!t"?! Is that really the correct attitude to take? So youre saying, you couldnt care less about this comp just because youre not in it? How ridiculous...

Kk, no need to get so stressed. I understand it must be a bit of a chore when you have no entries in it but still doesn't mean you shouldn't care LOL.

With your own entry, hosting is kinda like watching the final. You get excited whenever a vote for your country comes in, you think you could win etc.

 

Without that thrill and with nothing to replace it real life kind of takes over. It's not that i don't care for the hosting/contest but more like i don't care about the result. I knew from watching the SF results come in that WYRMT and Just Dance would be the 1/2. During the final voting it became obv WYRMT would win very quickly. I felt more like a ordinary poster with some inside info than a host at the end.

 

 

 

having been the only person to actually host it twice on my own, (yes I know Bokia did it twice too, but once was joint with Kopecka, and Pavel is of course about to rise to the challenge again), I can tell you that it isn't an easy job at all, you have to prepare god knows how many threads, banners, recap vids, etc...you actually have to clear about 2 hours a day in the final week of voting just to keep up with everything, and then unless you spend a good 3 or 4 hours on the day of the results doing prep work, you'd be absolutely lost and overwhelmed in the final, like I was in BJSCV when hosting

 

all things considered, it is quite tough, and yes we all make mistakes, but it's no reason to start a lynch mob when overall Phil has done a great job...I don't want this votinggate backlash thing ruining it for him like that massive Ace Of Base argument ruined the BJSCVIII live final for me -_-

I guess 19th and 21st is alright out of all the songs that have been entered. Though it looks like a flop on the leaderboard and having the '6th best' winner.

Try being the 4th most successful country and not making it past the semi's with you two top 5 finishes.

nice of you to say, I think you notice your own mistakes more than anybody else does (most of the time...)...in BJSCV I hadn't even compiled the results properly when I started announcing them, I knew who the winner was (tATu) as I'd had a look, but other than that I knew nothing...for BJSCVIII I added the results into excel with every vote that came in so it made it a lot easier, although before I did that I did have to give myself a refresher course in how to use Excel! :heehee:

This is why I think if there's a next time it should be hosted by a winner of BJSC XI-XX so the host actually has a guaranteed entry to the contest. I can feel you with the boring results thing, I was really looking forward to get the votes but it was Mdice after Mdice with the high points and the chances of anything catching up were slim.

Yeah, that's really shocking. Lily really should have made it. :( I was surprised M.I.A. actually made it for me, wasn't expecting that at all. Thank goodness Bev prequalified too.

I don't think GWB would have even qualified had it been in the semi finals. ;P I think the Lily leaks lost their appeal after a while, just like Brandy / Katy Perry did. D: Sad.

In actual fact it's probably my favourite song out of the final 30 but I just couldn't give a 12 to a song that was such an obvious hit when it was sent. Though if I was as quick as Simon (did I just say that?! :lol:) I would have confirmed it as soon as I heard it, which was an hour or so before he confirmed.

 

I don't think many people would have listened to the older songs either. :\ Although some of my nominations were for cheap songs, I actually did listen to all 10 recaps at least twice and a few of the songs I liked in full.
