The wedding episode was actually not the disaster I expected, even if Ste was insufferable all week. Doug could do so much better. Thank the lord that plot's over though.

 

The whole plot was terrible. I don't think the writers really knew WHAT message they were wanting to send out with it. With the Leanne/Dennis scene, and the big grand Ste speech, it felt almost like we were supposed to sympathise with poor brave Doug whilst his awful, evil parents abandoned him. They were all behaving as if the parents walked away because they were homophobes (which there was little actual evidence of), and NOTHING to do with the fact that their son just tried to con them out of money by faking a wedding and a pregnancy.

IDK what to say but Mercedes is FANTASTIC, but Mitzeee is AMAZING.

Not enjoying Hollyoaks at the moment. Getting a bit tired of it just being the Brendan Brady and Mercedes McQueen show. I know we had a week off from them last week but they seem to be involved in most eps. There both alright characters, Mercedes is amazing as the bitch but I don't know how they are ever going to redeem her though. The wedding plot was a shambles. I don't mind Ste and Doug (never liked Stendan) but they are both being written horribly, although to be fair so are most of the current characters. Hollyoaks Later looks alright but Brendan is heavily involved. He is an alright character but personally feel he is a bit over-rated. The Mitzeee stuff sounds quite good although the Bart, Jono and Neil stuff sounds absolutely terrible. Hopefully it will be good though.

 

The Mitzeee story seems to be dragging a bit but Rachel Shenton is fantastic. One of my favourite characters alongside Doug. Just wish he was given some decent material. However, The Kane stuff is also quite good, still intrigued to find out about Ally.

 

Anyway, still going to watch but am starting to lose a bit of interest, however I think it's just down to the writers because most of the acting is alright.

I don't think Mercedes will reveal yet, not only has this gone long enough but Mercedes accuses Mitzeee of kidnapping Bobby, I think Mercedes could be about to confess but the police are on the way or something

 

 

 

Hollyoaks characters Mercedes Fisher (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) are set to face off once again.

An upcoming storyline will reportedly see Mitzeee escape from prison in order to persuade Riley Costello (Rob Norbury) to run away with her, reports the Daily Star.

Mercedes is set to marry Riley for the second time, while she previously framed rival Mitzeee by stabbing herself and accusing her of carrying out the attack.

Riley decides to choose Mitzeee over Mercedes after she tracks him down to talk.

Meanwhile, Riley’s father Carl returns to the village, increasing the tension between Riley and Mercedes following her affair with Carl before their previous wedding.

However, just before Mitzeee and Riley are able to run away together, his son Bobby goes missing, with Mercedes insisting on Mitzeee’s involvement.

An insider said: “The entire village looks for Bobby, but Mercedes is quick to blame Mitzeee. She wastes no time naming her during the TV appeal.

“Riley is beside himself. He was planning to run away with Mitzeee so they could finally be together, and he can’t help but wonder if she’s taken him.

“The police are doing everything they can to locate both Mitzeee and Bobby and insist they all take part in the TV appeal.

“Even Carl agrees to put aside his differences to be there for his son and Mercedes. It’s going to be one hell of an emotional week.”

The storyline will begin on Channel 4 from September 28.

NO other soap could've got away with anything even half as ridiculous as those courtroom scenes! Mercedes giving the most incriminating smirk in front of literally half the court for about ten seconds was my favourite thing about it. That girl is everything I could want in a soap character. And then the "silence in the court! Take her down!" chaos was like something from Judge Judy. Truly fabulous!

Riley. Finished filming already. Sounds like his final story is tied up in Bobby's disappearance, which occurs after Mitzeee breaks out of prison and which Mercy tries to pin on Mitzeee. Sounds like he and Mitzeee won't ever get their happy ending!

 

I swear to god the day mitzeee leaves I will have a mental breakdown! She's everything!

Mitzeee is the only saving grace of later. The teens are awful. Brendan (most overrated character ever) and Joel's storyline is not that good either. Cheryl and Nan are alright. Meh. Hopefully the second ep is better.

I'm loving the way they've filmed Hollyoaks Later. Love all the colours and looks very Shane Meadows-y. Jono and his friends need to die though.

Later is thus far a triumph. The Bradies are fantastic. Brendan and Cheryl own every single scene. Nana Flo is wonderful. I was expecting the Mick stuff to be an anticlimax but it turned out to be quite thrilling. I'm also very glad they finally addressed Theresa's murderous past, and God help me I'm really enjoying her lately.

 

The Mitzeee stuff dragged a bit at first but now that Nancy's involved it seems to be picking up. Amsterdam is a bit of a mixed bag but I thought the scene with Jono completely missing the naked cyclists was GENIUS. Bart is a pretty rotten friend but the actor seems to be giving it more than usual. Good stuff overall.

 

I hope Amsterdam gets bombed and all the teens die, it would be an AMAZING end to Later.

 

Poor Esther, I hate the way Maddie is bullying her! Ruby is arguably the worst friend to exist in Hollyoaks while you have the best in Nancy, GOD BLESS NANCY.

The last episode of Later was simply stunning. Quite possibly the best episode of Hollyoaks I've ever seen. The week was quite a slow burn but those final two episodes were such a glorious crescendo and I think their vision for Brendan over the past two years finally payed off big time. I don't know what was more heartbreaking - the emotion on his face when he was reliving the abuse or the tragedy of him killing his nan. He truly is a freak but you can't not empathise. Walker is similarly screwed up, to go the whole hog with Brendan just to earn his trust - and he didn't even manage to do that. Unlike Ally for example, you can see that they had a really good idea of where Walker was going and his motivations throughout have been clear. The actor is excellent too, in fact everybody was excellent last night, even the teens.

 

Mitzeee's goodbye scene with Lauren was really quite upsetting! She was fabulous. I hope Mitzeee finally gets one over on Mercedes now. Massive kudos to Emmett, Bronagh, Neil and Rachel. They're some of the best actors HO has ever seen.
