Hollyoaks serial killer Silas Blissett will escape from hospital later this month.

The evil grandfather, played by Jeff Rawle, is back on screen this week as Texas Longford starts visiting him to seek answers over Lynsey's murder.

As seen in our recent picture preview, Texas (Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove) will provoke Silas's rage as they clash during one particular visit.

However, it seems that Silas's return plot will get even more sinister as he later manages to do a disappearing act from the psychiatric hospital.

Now on the loose again, Silas heads to Texas's flat for a terrifying showdown with the student - barging his way in, locking the door and tying her up.

Will Silas strike again?

Hollyoaks airs these scenes on Wednesday, July 18 and Thursday, July 19 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

PLEASEEEEE!

So they've cast

Texas in the Detective Lynsey role. I can't see that working quite so well, Texas is just a little too am-dram to engage sympathies in quite the same way.

I would've prefered if it was Cheryl. She's the one shining right now at the moment in the aftermath of it all.
I quite like Texas! It'll be nice, to see her in a big storyline. Hopefully she'll shine!

Cheryl has been wonderful the last few episodes. It's easy to overlook her given she spends the vast majority of her time as a cartoon, but it's good to be reminded that Bronagh Waugh really can excel at the more dramatic material too.

Really, for all the bad reputation Hollyoaks has, it's only partly deserved and for every pretty-but-vacant plank they employ (I cannot believe people genuinely consider Liberty a top 10 character), there's another genuinely very good star-in-the-making.

Tbh, I don't understand why Hollyoaks ratings are so poor? It's also frustrating for people to label Hollyoaks as a show with people who can't act. The whole Hollyoaks show can act better than some of the abysmal characters in Eastenders & Coronation Street, I mean Tyler & Anthony Moon in Eastenders are far worse than people like Theresea & Micheala.

Every soap has its bad actors and its good ones. EE is the soap which produces the most credible acting pedigree. Corrie has by far the worst standard of acting and nobody criticises them for it. The only people saying the HO cast can't act are the ones who don't watch, or the ones who tune in once a month and find Jono and Maddie on their screens. And to be fair the average 1.5m audience isn't bad considering it's targeted mostly at women aged 15-30.

Silas: Imagine what it must feel like, not knowing what someone is truly capable of until it's too late.

Texas: Is that all you've got? Mercedes wanted me to ask: was it worth it? Killing your own daughter?

Silas: How is "Mercedes" recovering from her recent troubles? Oh, I must send Mitzeee some flowers!

Texas: You don't know who killed Lynsey, how could you!?

Silas: I've told you over and over again that it was me who took your little sister, but that's been your trouble all along hasn't it, Texas? You just don't listen!

Texas: There's no one in here. You're bored and you want an audience. You're pathetic!

Silas: The flourist, Mercedes recent ordeal. You really must pay more attention! Yes, and a little dalliance with the devil! Jodie I believe was her name?

Texas: How do you know that?

Silas: Why spoil the surprise?

Texas: DI Small, I'm ready to leave!

Silas: Another girl dies at 14:00pm tomorrow. The bigger question is, what if it turns out to be much more than a copycat killer?

Texas: What do you mean, Silas!? Tell me!

The line about sending Mitzeee flowers is AMAZING.

I definitely agree. Corrie really does have a big share of quite dreadful actors, plus Corrie is just generally dull. Hollyoaks does have some very good actors, which I'm glad they are concentrating on more as opposed to the students who are quite shocking, although I do have a soft spot for Maddie.

Sidenote: I'm really like Dodger these days, for more than his looks!

I really think the killer will be Will tbh. The quiet, unassuming type Silas says in the preview, someone who will have known him - that rules out Dr. Browning, Ally and the other two. Mercedes just wouldn't do it, it'd be bizzare and Lynsey WAS one of her only friends, even she's not that heartless. It'll be weird for him to be the killer but I'll be happy if it means we see the back of him - he does my head in.

It's not Will, Silas will blame will, I think it's Dr Browning (who he most likely would know because he visits him for his heart)

Yeah, it's becoming increasingly obvious that it was Dr. Browning. Especially after he had that little showdown with Mercedes ... think it'll come to him nearly killing her or something similar.

Hmmm, I think he's in love with Mercedes, although a lot of people on Digital Spy seem to think Joel is responsible, I hope the murderer is Mercedes TBH!

I DON'T. Although I could kind of see it coming, like she seems very shifty with how she's been acting lately... with the whole newspaper thing and throwing it in the bin. Also, I don't understand if she wanted to get back with Riley SO bad she let him know she was with Dr. Browning?! Weird.

I expect Mercedes will find out it's Dr. Browning and he'll attempt to kill her, but then the whole Texas / Silas thing seems a bit pointless so I'm more than likely wrong.

I love it when soaps have a Dr. in them, they're always such wacko characters.

I kind of wish they hadn't resurrected Silas. Although being pushed to the forefront may well go on to do wonders for the characters of Texas & Will, as it did Lynsey before, I'm not overly convinced at the moment. Unfortunately neither Bianca Hendricks-Spenlove or James Atherton are QUITE there in the terms of acting ability, and Will has been so unpleasant and secretive the past year, that at the moment it's hard to muster sympathy for him.

Silas also seems to be on the verge of becoming a ridiculous caricature, and seems to be modelling himself on Pennywise the Dancing Clown ("I'll KILL YOU ALL!!!!") and Gollum ("Not my RIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!").

Having said that, anything that keeps Maddie and the teens in the background, is fine by me.

Departee:

Calvin Demba who plays Scott has just finished filming. Doubt we'll even notice when he's gone given how little screentime the students get...
