Departee:

Calvin Demba who plays Scott has just finished filming. Doubt we'll even notice when he's gone given how little screentime the students get...

There are plenty of characters Hollyoaks could really do without, but I wouldn't have had

Scott

at the top of that list.

I don't know whether it was his choice or if he was axed, but if the latter it's a little strange given they've spent a year just getting to the point of Scott/Annalise as a couple. I actually think this current lot of students are pretty likeable and work well together; they just need to be integrated in with the rest of the cast a little more.

Brendan's acting is so OTT he ruins it for me totally unrealistic character.

Bronagh Waugh is doing the most fantastic job with Cheryl. An absolute masterclass in grief acting.

Oh that eposide was fantastic and emotional!

I really cannot stand Will, he's a terrible actor! I am however loving Esther these days, definitely the best of the young crew.
If all of this trampling-the-doll-house is supposed to make us feel empathy for Maddie, it's NOT WORKING, because the whole thing still screams spoilt princess. GET RID
The best thing about tonights E4 eposide was

the ending where Silas walked right past Ash

Another departee:

Hollie Jay Bowes (Michaela) is off. Again.

Can't say I mind; she's done absolutely nothing of note this time around, and it seemed to be a completely perfunctory return.

She would've been on my axe list. Decent enough background character but the cast is too big to have people around who do nothing for months on end.

The strange thing is that

she genuinely was one of the better characters when she left first time around. They should have put her back in her former investigative journalist role to give her some sort of purpose.

Silas' return was an absurd HOT MESS. I quite liked it (the conversation with Lynsey was good fun and well written) but I did have to laugh when he turned up in Texas' flat acting like a pantomime dame. The use of Creep wasn't anywhere near as effective this time either. I doubt he'll be back but I do kind of wish they'd killed him off to prevent the possibility.

He announced he was coming back to Texas, and on a interview he said someday he will return to Hollyoaks!

Line of the week goes to Mercy. "I don't HATE Bobby..." Amazing! Her story with Dr. Browning is my favourite one on the go right now. That and the Kanes.

Well that's my next favourite character remaining leaving then! :( Hollyoaks has gone back to being a boring hot mess again now.

Scott's exit was rubbish, and judging from spoilers,

Amy's is equally rubbish and ridiculously low-key for one of the show's longest running characters

.

There really isn't much of interest going on right now, although I quite enjoyed Carmel letting rip at the McQueens. The aftermath to the Lynsey murder has been less than fulfilling; bless them but the likes of Will, Texas and Ally are simply not capable of holding up what should have been a massive blockbuster plot.

It's frustrating that Hollyoaks ALWAYS misses the perfect oppurtunity!
