About Walker:

if he's an undercover cop gunning for Brendan that surely makes him a candidate to be this year's grizzly death in Later, no?

Does anyone else think that as a show Hollyoaks is beyond recognisable?

I mean a few years ago we were getting hard hitting stories that, most importantly had a hint of realism. These days we are getting three different stories a week, and every character is either a gangster, camp queen, model or wannabee model or a singer. It's ridiculous.

I'm glad someone else hates Joel. I can't stand to watch him, his voice goes right through me and he's not 'tough' in the slightest. Eugh. Whatever boring storyline that's going on with him and Brendan right now too, I really couldn't care less about.

Exactly. It's faintly ludicrous that we're expected to see Joel as some up-and-coming gangster extraordinaire, when the vast majority of his time has been spent being humiliated by employee Walker or beaten up by schoolboy Callum.

I'm also struggling to really care about the Brendan gangland adventures (although I haven't yet seen the E4 episode). It's difficult to engage in a storyline that is so focused on a war with an offscreen villain who has made about two nondescript 5-second appearances. It's all very Gangster Andy from Eastenders, and definitely not the best use of Brendan.

OK so having now seen the latest episode, I will retract my words on Brendan's gangland adventures. THEORY:

I think we're being set up for another "shock death"; Brendan. He's being backed into a bit of a corner and systematically having all his ties cut and allies removed; Walker's out to get him, Joel's out to get him, Offscreen Villain Sampson's out to get him, the police are out to get him, Cheryl's disowned him, Lynsey's dead, Ste's moving on...

It wouldn't surprise me Brendan getting killed off in Hollyoaks Later, Hollyoaks know how popular the character is, but he will easily move onto bigger and better things, the thing is where would that leave Cheryl's character?

In tonight's E4

Sampson got arrested for drugs, Joel admitted he was against Brendan but he actually really cares for him. I don't know where or what there doing with Brendan's chracter, but if he was to be killed off it would need to be in October time, when ratings are high! I would also get the return of Silas with his death in December.

I have to disagree with you Lee,

Silas's story is over now. I don't know what the point of another return would be except to tarnish his legacy.

I don't know about Brendan being killed. He's literally the biggest star they have so that would be a very bold move. Would they really want to deny him the chance to return in future?

I really liked the heist episode. It was good to get a sense of what Walker's all about after he's basically been a spare part at the club for the last two months. He's a really solid actor too. I'm sure he'll die in Later though.

Well when I say Brendan will be killed, I mean in the traditional Hollyoaks sense of the word "killed", where we are inevitably given a clue that he is still alive, and either no body or the wrong body is found a la Warren Fox and Clare Devine. But I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see Brendan leave sooner rather than later. Cheryl too for that matter.

Just watched the E4 eposide

So Walker knows who murdered Lyndsey, It showed him in the background while she is getting murdererd, I think it will be Ally who killed Lyndsey now

I hope it's

not Ally... he's a terrible character, his back story is shit and we don't know even know if that stuff about PTSD he told Amy is true, and he has absolutely no proper motive for killing Lynsey. It really ought to be Dr Browning and I'm quite sure it was.

It was confirmed the story he told Amy was a complete lie, The thing is why would Walker watch Dr Browning killing Lyndsey, the person who murdered Lyndsey is obviously close to Walker

I've not seen the E4 ep yet, I'll have to get back to you on that...

"The pain's pretty constant... it don't stop... just like the nightmares."

Mercy is a CONSTANT source of entertainment, I love this story. And as NONSENSICAL as it is I do think Myra being transferred to Mitzeee's wing is bloody genius.

I am so behind! Has anything remotely interesting happened in the past few weeks? I think the last time I watched it Maddie et al had all gone on holiday. Update someone?

Mostly a load of interminable gangland nonsense and endless I'm-going-to-make-you-jealous playground games from nobody's favourite couple Texas and Dodger. There's also a truly terrible plot where Leanne and Doug are getting married so that they can win money from Doug's family, and Ste's throwing temper tantrums despite it being his idea.

The only plot development of any consequence is that Walker is actually a bent undercover cop, out to get revenge on Brendan (Brendan supplied drugs that rendered Walker's brother a vegetable).

He also witnessed Lynsey's murder (but we still don't know who actually did it).

And both Amy and Scott have left the show.

Oh well it doesn't seem like I've missed too much at all then. The Leanne and Doug storyline sounds absolutely horrific.

Surprised at the Walker thing! I'm really hoping Lynsey's killer is Dr. Browning or Mercedes, honestly the only two that'll make the killing of Lynsey worth it.

AMY has left?! :o what happened there? Slightly random, I just assumed she'd be one of those characters, much like Tony and Frankie etc. that'll just be around for eternity. I quite liked her!

Amy had a terrible exit; Ally dumped her so that he could shack up with Ash, so Amy got drunk and tried to seduce Ste, and the next morning was so mortified she decided to move away for good. Because you know, moving to a different part of the country is always the best way to deal with mild embarrassment.
What an absolutely DREADFUL exit for such a long-serving character, she definitely deserved something a lot better than that. How awful. She's never been one of my favourites, but I've always liked her!

In fairness there had been a subtle build up to her exit for a while - she was telling Josh Ashworth how much she wanted to do something with her life when they met up in Sheffield. And she did move to go on a teaching course, not just to get away from Ste (though that would be a perfectly valid reason too :D). It was quite an emotional exit and I've never even liked her that much. She did deserve more though. You should 4OD her last ep Casey!

Lynsey's killer is revealed in Monday's C4 ep. I've spoiled it for myself unfortunately!
