Who knows the GA fanatics could be converted into DM fanatics in a year or two's time.. (hopefully )

But what about people like me, who happen to be big fans of both of these acts? :P

Depeche Mode - "John The Revelator"

I can't wait for their new material; with this electropop climate hopefully they will be finally acclaimed for the band they've been for over 20+ years.

Besides how many acts/bands would have the balls to make a video to the stand out track from their last album that did not receive any video airplay in the UK or the USA (I wonder why?)

That shows somewhat maturity in music taste. I meant to say you get GA fans who are only fans of GA or you get teens who only like plastic pop. I like Miley, Rihanna, Gabriella Cilmi etc and then I like Metallica, Billy Talent etc - liking only girl groups and plastic pop is something I did during junior school and I even remember at the age of 5 we used to do exercise at school only when the Spice Girls cd was playing.. But now I've gotten over that stage, well except the whole Miley obsession atm. But if one likes only plastic pop I guess thats just their taste but it looks more like they're trying to stereotype themselves to be 'plastic pop mad' rather than enjoying quality music from no matter what genre or band it is

I am like that!

I like both pop and metal!

It doesn't matter what genre is that act.

I'm much the same i like a bit of pop, rock, and other genres, whatever the mood i'm in.

My taste is pretty much eclectic.

Looking forward to hearing Depeche Mode's new album.

Well, I've heard 2 tracks from the album - the single, Wrong and a track called Peace.... both are phenomenal.... possibly their greatest in 20 years.

Indeed, they are the BOMB...... Already, along with The Prodigy's "Invaders Must Die" we're seeing that it's the older acts coming back at us with the stronger material.... DM got their mojo back with "Playing the Angel", which was a good album, but on this evidence, I reckon this album could be way better than "..Angel" or "Ultra"..... Dare I say it, DM's best material since "Violator".....? Let's hope the rest of it will match up to these.....

Having also heard both tracks on t'net yesterday, I have to agree with this statement.

It is interesting times with 5 "veteran" acts returning in early 2009 with the new material heard so far it seems that Depeche Mode, the Pet Shop Boys & the Prodigy have rediscovered their creative mojos; whilst Morrissey & U2 seem to have lost their's.

Morrissey sometimes has these blips though.... The two albums previous were good, so, it's probably a bit expected that the next one may not be quite up to scratch.... U2, I haven't bothered about for a long time tbh..... Bono's "messiah" complex just got a bit much for me..... Mind you, I still think it's pretty amazing that for a band who've been around for 30 years they've never lost a single member.... Still the original line-up.... That does take some doing I have to admit.....

The new single as leaked:

Depeche Mode - Wrong

Lyrics:

I was born with the wrong sign

In the wrong house

With the wrong ascendancy

I took the wrong road

That led to the wrong tendencies

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time

For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme

On the wrong day of the wrong week

I used the wrong method with the wrong technique

Wrong

Wrong

There's something wrong with me

Cannot be something wrong with me

Inherently

The wrong mix in the wrong genes

I reached the wrong ends by the wrong means

It was the wrong plan

In the wrong hands

With the wrong theory for the wrong man

The wrong lies, on the wrong vibes

The wrong questions with the wrong replies

Wrong

Wrong

I was marching to the wrong drum

With the wrong scum

p***ing out the wrong energy

Using all the wrong lines

And the wrong signs

With the wrong intensity

I was on the wrong page of the wrong book

With the wrong rendition of the wrong hook

Made the wrong move, every wrong night

With the wrong tune played till it sounded right yah

Wrong

Wrong

Too long

Wrong

I was born with the wrong sign

In the wrong house

With the wrong ascendancy

I took the wrong road

That led to the wrong tendencies

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time

For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme

On the wrong day of the wrong week

I used the wrong method with the wrong technique

Bunch of stupid c/unts.... dont they actually realise the YouTube is one of the best methods of advertising out there.....? So bloody short sighted of them.....

Well they say that it was actually a claim by Depeche Mode... I doubt that's true though. Desperate to hear it!
