POINTLESS, and so untrue, they would have been dropped this year had Cheryl not been on the X factor?

 

Now, I dont believe her X Factor stint even improved sales, maybe slightly for TP, but because they performed the song on the show as a group, not because she was a judge on the show - didn't help Dannii's single in her first year, did it? BUT, even if this were the case - and the only reason sales were high was because of her, they would NOT have been dropped, have the Sugababes with their album? No. Has Dido with her low selling album? No.

 

If you're going to make a point and spread negativity, at least make one that's got at least some back bone.

What? Before Cheryl even appeared on XFactor, their albums were selling well, but not as well as OOC... Maybe it's just Coincidence, but there is NO DENYING that Cheryl being on Xfactor helped the album out.

 

Oh and I was actually thinking this the other day... Is it just a coincidence or not? :unsure: But TBH I think OOC is their best album yet, and I'm happy overall with how it's performed. But it does seem odd how it's dropped like a brick since, Cheryl's last appearance on XFactor and the christmas rush etc...

 

At least they got the timing right with the album :lol: It would have been nice for it to hang around for a bit more and not drop 6-10 places everytime.

The only reason they ever got on the X factor was because of that W.A.G Cheryl being a judge, "The Promise" and "Out Of Control" were released when she was getting maximum exposure on that show. And now she is off it album is plummeting and 2nd single FLOP.

There are more markets in the wrold than the UK has the girls have never discovered.

 

No angel in the Uk sales alone prob sold more than GA total album sales ever and combine The sugababes total sales of there albums internationally it would dwarf GA. The babes are popular all across Europe and will continue to be with the next album record companies arent stupid you know.

 

My point is without all the media hype i.e. X Factor press obsession plus her cheating husband which got her all that sympathy god knows why has she just looks like a doormat,great role-model.

You can hardly blame them though. It worked last time so of course they're going to do it again. It's all about Timing, and GA have got it spot on. I'm starting to think that the 'babes fans are just quite shocked, that GA have finally got the better album, and the better sales for once. If Keisha, Amelle or Heidi was a judge on X Factor, then it would be a totally different story I think :thinking:

I mean dont get me wrong the album is ok "OoC". I do like the sugababes alot and I agree OOC is prob on a par with "Catfights".

 

Just putting a point across judging on the evidence of "TLk" flopping like Tina Malone's tits when its infinitely better than "TP" hehehe thats a good abbreviation stands for toilet paper and I wouldnt wipe my arse on it. Which was huge hit. IMO just cause of the xfactor/cheryl media frenzy that was going on up until chrimbo and they wouldnt have got the GA show either if it wasnt for Cowell.

 

The whole project would have undoubtedly underperformed.

 

I do agree with you I dont blame them doing a x-factor tie-in again on the next album. This album will continue on the sliiiiiiide now I think.

Girls Aloud have just adopted the Sugababes strategy by coming back with arguably their strongest single since Sound Of The Underground and selling some albums in the build up to Christmas off the back of it.

 

The X Factor performance may have added 20k to their first week sales but it hasn’t shifted over 380,000 units. Just look at Leon Jackson only the 143rd biggest seller of 2008 or Miley Cyrus only 170th or Mariah who did make the year-end top250 despite performances on X Factor. Besides there has always been a direct link between TV exposure and chart positions. Once upon a time Top Of The Pops was a serious hit maker one performance would see your record storm up the chart the day after!

 

The Sugababes are VICTIMS of their own success. After great pop records like Freak Like Me, Round Round and Hole In The Head in the first half of the decade then two pop masterpieces in the form of Push The Button and About You Now. How did they expect to get away with releasing a tacky Boots advert after the high standards they’d set themselves just a year earlier? By FAR the worst single they’ve ever released and what’s more it’s killed the whole project stone dead.

I don't think they're bitter towards them, as a band. I think they're just bitter that finally, Girls Aloud have outsold Sugababes. It's down yet again to the stupid GA vs SB battle. That's my opinion anyway.
