I find that really weird. In the 90s when dance-pop was huge, every other number one single was in that genre and the albums barely broke the top 10. It seems to be totally the other way around now...

maybe people feel like they get more value for money now or something!?! Clubland TV and similar channels help I suppose...non stop promotion of AATW acts with loads of different songs by each artist, people want a load of songs by that artist rather than just the one

although Darren Styles getting a consistent chart staying top 5 album was even a shock to me  I expected top 20 and then plummet...in 1999, that would have almost certainly been the case. Respectable dance acts like Prodigy, Basement Jaxx and Chemical Brothers have always had successful albums, but the success of the commercial dance albums has been really shocking!

I do, once they have a release date fixed.

what do you reckon to Release Me's chances Xylem? I reckon 50/50 chance of getting on the playlist :o if it was on Hard2Beat it would have been a 100% chance

Yeah, even the hugely hyped/downloaded/played-deafeningly-on-mobiles-by-chavs-on-buses N-Dubz haven't done that well.

Seriously, when did AATW have their last top 10 single?

Edit: According to Wikipedia, nearly 18 months ago - T2 - Heartbroken :puke2:

I think the only reason why N Dubz haven't done awfully when in sales is because their target audience have a piracy rate of about 95%. Same with Cascada, Blackout Crew etc.

Being on AATW certainly hinders its chances, along with Ella Elle L'a and No Stress (both huge European hits). I reckon 40/60, with 40% of being playlisted. Scott Mills loved it, but that means nothing.

It doesn't mean nothing since he is one of the few (the only?) DJs on the playlist commitee...

And Ella Elle L'a wasn't playlisted because nobody should ever have that inflicted upon them!

REALLY hope it's a hit. It's out in May right?

I've seen it on Chart Show once and requested it on Clubland TV twice :heehee:

Can't believe it, I think this might really be a hit :cheer:
OH WOO. Hopefully will smash etc., but a la Money Note, everyone knows the unedited version is FAR superior :smoke:
