Reached No.21 w/e 15/12/84

Weeks on chart : 6

I've never been a Queen fan though I admit they have had their moments. However, this was not one of them!

Maybe if they'd released a Christmas single in the mid to late '70s (no, I'm not counting "Bohemian Rhapsody"!) it would have been a big hit, but this was just forgettable. They didn't even make a video for it!

Other festive No.21s :

Whigfield - "Last Christmas" (1995)

Fat Les - "Naughty Christmas (Goblin In The Office)" (1998)

its like queen were obliged to release a crimbo hit... not very 'christmassy' at all and certainly not one of the 'great' crimbo tracks.
I've often wondered when the Queen song was recorded. It's a bit like it was an afterthought if it was recorded in 1984 as they were still promoting their "The Works" album. Certainly "Thank God It's Christmas" wasn't promoted very well and its quite lowly peak reflected this.

Oh dear no I hate Queen! I really DO!!!

So, no, I'm not a fan of this one either...

dont know it - never heard it..and thinking its queen it should be on tv like every year...and actually dont think it was mentioned in the queen feature that was in mojo the other week that i ended up reading (tho i think that should be queen + the bloke from free...tho i think wyclef jean and pras got to the credit featuring queen and free before queen and paul rodgers)

btw vindaloo was great...and the flipside of last christmas - big time by whiggy i liked a lot at that time - hi di hi di hi di ho (and you didnt have to look at jonas the joker's big huge face from ace of base either)

Hey America - by the great legendary Godfather of soul - James Brown #47 in 1971

Great slice of Christmas funk
