December 7, 200816 yr I read, but to claim somebody else's favourite song is INSULTING is absolute madness. Do you even know the definition of the word? Sorry to be rude but this really irks. If somebody wants to favour Girls over About You Now or whatever, let them. It does not affect you in ANY way! No but their opinion was they thought it was insulting other sugababes songs, same as myn, that was our opinion. Since when did we say they couldnt have an opinion? We were just saying we didnt agree with it.
December 7, 200816 yr I so agree with this, so many established acts are really struggling, Some acts are endlessly hyped whilst others release under the radar. It's a use once and throw away industry. Record companies encourage this, as that's how they make their money, new acts demand less returns.. Radio One are also a culprit, IMO - the way they hype up certain acts constantly. All I can say is, look out those who are currently basking in huge success, as in a few years, they too could be considered old and uninteresting. Other casualties of the older acts doing less well are James Morrison, Lemar, Will Young (to a certain extent), Dido, Kaiser Chiefs, the Feeling, I doubt even Robbie would sell very well if he were to return in the current climate. Glad someone sees what i am saying. Anastacia is the same aswell, her heyday has gone now.
December 7, 200816 yr Anastasia has had sort of in and out success. I'm Outta Love was brilliant, then it all went a bit quiet until Left Outside Alone - which I just love, and its gone all quiet again
December 7, 200816 yr That's technically not true. The Freak of Nature album didn't spawn any Top 10 hits but it did sell triple-platinum in the UK. :P Robin, I'm not rising to you...
December 7, 200816 yr Why are so many people saying Every Heart Broken could help them?! That song is horrible! My least favourite on the album. I absolutely love "You On A Good Day"

December 7, 200816 yr in my opinion 'No Can Do' is the best single they have released in years and it would be a big shame if it flops, it's such a great pop tune reminiscent of the the true pop classics.... the better choice would've been of course the classic 'Nothing as good as you' which has 'HIT' written all over it!!!

Thats coz there is no answer, you are telling us off for having an opinion after saying that everyone is entitled to an opinion. Of course you aint sayin anythin.
December 7, 200816 yr Among the 20 most played songs of the week in the UK this week, and even not in Itunes top120 :o That is shocking, looks like the public has really had enough of them !
December 7, 200816 yr Are you still wasting good air Bertrand? It's called a flop single... it's not their career death knell. I do find it utterly bizarre how you properly get off on dissing the Sugababes. Edited December 7, 200816 yr by Jarkfrost
December 7, 200816 yr It's called a flop single... More than a flop single though, it's a flop album and a no tour too... And I'm not "wasting" air Jark... Why do you feel the need to make a PERSONNAL comment to everyone that is not raving about the Babes? It's not just me, you keep having a go at different people in this thread and elsewhere, just leave them in peace. If you want to disagree with me, of course you can, but do it about the topic, without adding personnal comment about people like "you are wasting good air", because that is really cruel and not needed. Thank you in advance ... Edited December 7, 200816 yr by Xmas_Bert
December 7, 200816 yr I didn't realise not touring was ever a sign of a flop album? PLENTY of artists tour whether their albums flop or not. Even before the album's release Heidi said they weren't likely to tour for the time being as they wanted a rest. So... You know, you can say what you like but I'll be reminding you of that 'public have had enough' comment next time they get a hit single. I don't think anybody is denying this era is a flop, but that's all it is - ONE flop. The Change era was very successful and there's absolutely no reason they won't be again. Artists have had larger falls from grace (and returns to grace). Just look at Kylie with her massive 1998 flop Impossible Princess and then her HUGE 2000/2001 comeback with Light Years/Fever. However... I realise you will feel all the better for them flopping, so for the meanwhile, I won't shatter your dreams. Edited December 7, 200816 yr by Jarkfrost
December 7, 200816 yr i don't think it's fair to say it's a flop until it's actually released? whether or not it seems likely at this point, it is merely speculation
December 7, 200816 yr he gets off on your bloody reaction. Let him say his venomous piece and just ignore it if you don't like it. It's a new tactic i'm employing because i'm fed up with this stupidly pathetic argument. Clearly we prefer the Babes, just as they prefer GA. The opinions won't change by bickering, they'll only change through the quality of the music. No opinion is wrong, and if you like somebody's opinion and your re-action to said opinion will lead to an argument then don't post it. It saves a lot of hassle and stops people being put of bands because of their fans. This is a general statement jark, not an attack at you. Just to clear things up.

They want a rest and therefore they don't want to tour ? So is it their choice not to go on roads to meet the public and defend an album they love ?? Erm... It's a bit weird for an artist not to want to tour, when most of them admitt it's the most enjoyable thing to do.
December 7, 200816 yr I realise that but sometimes I worry that people without realising Bertie's back story will read the comments he presents as fact and take them as truth, when in fact he's bitter and extremely tainted. I'll try to take note of that though. It'd just be nice if, knowing Bertie intensely dislikes Sugababes, he steered clear of their topics instead of these ridiculous attempts at stirring it all up...

It's a bit weird for an artist not to want to tour, when most of them admitt it's the most enjoyable thing to do. Oh. My. God. They SAID it's the most enjoyable aspect of it, but they don't want to tour so often that it isn't an event. The Change tour was extremely well-received critically and amongst fans/the public and they don't want to be back on the road so soon that a new Sugababes tour isn't an event or an absolute regularity - so it's something people really look forward to and appreciate. They said this before the album's release before you play the 'thats because their album flopped' card, by the way... They've also said they intended to go on the road later on in the year (Change was in spring) but depending on whether they continue with Catfights promo this might or might not happen.
