December 16, 200816 yr Keisha is NOT 'pushed' as the lead. Everything in the Sugababes is and always has been fairly equal. Occasionally Heidi sings a little less than Amelle or Keisha, but she seems as happy as anything so there's no problem... stop trying to create one? No offence but isnt the sugababes name even something to do with keisha nickname at school? That kind of say a lot really.

'Their band name originates from Buchanan's school nickname, Sugar baby, although the trio was officially known as The Sugababies during the recording of the album. When all the band members were aged just fourteen, they were offered a record contract by London Records and tweaked their name to the more mature Sugababes'.
December 16, 200816 yr Whatever. I'm not 'offended'. Why would would I be offended by people with nothing better do stirring rubbish?

No, it wasn't 'Their band name originates from Buchanan's school nickname, Sugar baby, although the trio was officially known as The Sugababies during the recording of the album. When all the band members were aged just fourteen, they were offered a record contract by London Records and tweaked their name to the more mature Sugababes'. On the way to the studios, sweet-toothed Mutya and Keisha always insisted on stopping at the newsagent to pick up some sweets to give them energy for the gruelling recording sessions. Their love of candy inspired Tom [Manager, Responsible for forming the group] to nickname the trio 'Sugar Babies'. Although they didn't mind the nickname in the early days, when the time came for their demos to be shipped around record companies, the girls were looking far into the future and thought the name would sound a bit too young a few years down the line. Keisha explains, "Our manager used to always say just say 'Ah, these are my little sugar babies'. When we were about to be signed to the record company we said, 'Before you sign us, can you drop the babies and keep it as the babes, so, when we get older, babes will be known as maybe not so cute, but sexy, more so than the babies part"
December 18, 200816 yr I still think keisha likes to see herself as the main member of the group though but i know a lot of people think that too. I dont think its a bad thing though, she has been in the band the longest and has the best voice so why shouldnt she? Edited December 18, 200816 yr by Robintime11
