Posted December 13, 200816 yr Does anyone have any idea which No.1 Albums spent the fewest Weeks on the UK Album Chart? Does anyone know the Top 10 such Albums? Thanks.
December 13, 200816 yr Ooh that's an interesting one. You can find a list of all the #1 albums here and you can click on an album to see how long it spent in the top 75/100. (I'm not totally sure) I've been looking at a few randomly and so far Bruce Springsteen - Devils & Dust is the lowest I've seen, on 8 weeks. Edited December 13, 200816 yr by Aaron™

December 13, 200816 yr Very interesting and some laughable runs for some of them, could there have been any reason to explain why some of these albums slid so baddly?
December 13, 200816 yr Very interesting and some laughable runs for some of them, could there have been any reason to explain why some of these albums slid so baddly? Ummm........they weren't very good? They must have had good lead singles, which proved to be the only really good track on the album. Continuing sales of an album must be from good 'hearsay' and recommendations from buyers and good following singles bumping up sales. Without either of these albums are doomed to sink. The other side of the coin would be to see which albums had the lowest week one chart position, but that in the end stayed the longest in the charts. Maybe the first single wasn't so great, but following singles were better and the album built up a good reputation. I think album sales info is much more interesting than single sales :D
December 13, 200816 yr Very interesting and some laughable runs for some of them, could there have been any reason to explain why some of these albums slid so baddly? There are alot of Indie acts on the list and I guess its just their core fanbase getting them to #1 with no interest/sales from the general public.
December 13, 200816 yr Suede - Head Music (9 Weeks) Chart Run: 1-7-21-27-31-32-36-31-39. I know for a fact that this one spent 16 weeks in the top 75, so a lot of these must only be top 40 runs, as opposed to the full top 75. Radiohead's Amnesiac had no singles from it, so that's why that one slipped out quickly.
December 13, 200816 yr Norah Jones - Not Too Late (9 Weeks) Chart Run: 1-4-4-15-29-43-33-43-59-(96)-(95). Never realised how badly this flopped :o
