February 15, 200916 yr Timbaland may work on Burke album Saturday, February 14 2009, 16:23 GMT By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter Rex Features Timbaland and P Diddy have offered to work on Alexandra Burke's debut album, according to a report. The Sun claims that the hip-hop stars are keen to join forces with Burke after hearing about her new US record deal. Yesterday, it was revealed that the X Factor winner had signed up with the Epic label in a deal worth £3 million. Confirming the news on her online blog, Burke explained: "Oh my God!!! I cannot believe I have been given a deal in the US!!! It's just so exciting and I can't even explain how it feels. I'm just so happy, and of course so emotional!!! "Cracking America will be another one of my lifelong dreams that is coming true and I just can't wait to get in that studio!" The star's debut disc is expected to be released in the autumn. Oooh...
February 15, 200916 yr Sounds very interesting. Seems like they are determined to make this exciting and modern :)
February 15, 200916 yr Good to see they are actually trying to make her a sucsess unlike a certain other X Factor winner of the year before..
February 15, 200916 yr Good to see they are actually trying to make her a sucsess unlike a certain other X Factor winner of the year before.. To be fair, there wasn't a lot they could do with him. He had ZERO talent.
February 15, 200916 yr At the moment it's all PR hype and publicity - I'd be very surprised if she is working with Timbaland or P Diddy. But who knows, I didn't think she'd get a US deal! She does seem to have a very efficient PR team behind her, not a day goes by without some revelation being leaked to the paper. She was my favourite contestant last year, but I dont think she's that special really. Good voice, good looks, good stage performer but nothing exceptional. Her voice certainly can't compare with Leona's. In truth she didn't really stand out on x factor until towards the end. She seemed to be a lot of people's second or third favourite, and notably she didn't actually win the vote in any week until towards the end, when Cowell started praising her to high heaven. I would imagine there are hundreds of equally talented performers in the US. So the US deal is a bit of a mystery. I imagine Simon Cowell has pulled plenty of strings (and twisted a few arms).
February 17, 200916 yr As much as i think Clive has a great eye for talent, (and also, if you think Simon Cowell can turn $h!t into gold then Clive must be able to make water into wine...) I completely DISPISE him... Snobby bugger [/obsessiveKCfanmoment]
February 17, 200916 yr but I just hope this doesn't push Leona onto the back burner. After the massive success of 'Spirit' that sold over 6 mil, are they really going to push her back for Alexandra who haven't proven anything? I highly doubt that. I'm pretty sure Leona will still be their #1 artist seeing as how much money she made for them. I feel a bit sorry for her to be honest. Unless she comes out with a hugee record (like Bleeding Love) she's always going to be compared to Leona in terms of success. And will most likely always be living under her shadow as an artist. Quite agree. If Alex top Leona's success with her debut, maybe she won't be under Leona's shadow. I've never thought Alexandra was anything special, and I still go with that judgement, but i'll wait to hear her material before I go making proper judgements. Agree again. Her voice is not my taste & I find nothing special about her. But that's just me. Edited February 17, 200916 yr by runaway
