85. Rihanna – Take A Bow - 17,11,6,6,10,14,22,32 – 8 Weeks

83. Alicia Keys – Like You’ll Never See Me Again - 32,31,25,14,14,11,7,13,22,26 – 10 Weeks

82. Chris Brown feat Keri Hilson – Superhuman - 20,11,10,8,11,13,16,22,35 – 9 Weeks

Some good ones there. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Like You'll Never See Me Again. I agree it wasn't the best choice for second single as it wasn't terribly catchy but it's one of the best pure R&B tracks of the year. Just an amazing song, followed by an amazing performance. It's a shame it didn't do better.

I must be the only who *really* likes Break the Ice... I thought it had a great hook and had some slick production. It's my second favourite off the album (behind Piece of Me).

So far = AMAZING!!

I really need to start my end of year chart... one week left and I have no idea who's gonna be where. :(

85. Rihanna – Take A Bow - 17,11,6,6,10,14,22,32 – 8 Weeks

Beautiful :wub: do regret having it at #1 for 10 weeks though!

84. La Roux – Quicksand - 16,9 – 2 Weeks

Hmm. Surprised to see this here so soon, great song though.

83. Alicia Keys – Like You’ll Never See Me Again - 32,31,25,14,14,11,7,13,22,26 – 10 Weeks

Fantastic! I don't think it was a terrible single choice, just a terrible choice to release it before Love Affair/Superwoman.

82. Chris Brown feat Keri Hilson – Superhuman - 20,11,10,8,11,13,16,22,35 – 9 Weeks

This has actually grown on me but I don't think much of it. The chorus is really catchy!

81. Kelly Rowland – Work - 39,29,20,9,6,4,10,20,31 – 9 Weeks

Superb. I reckon this is my most played track this year (not sure for certain seeing I didn't start using Last.fm until May)

As for the albums... I don't have Little Jackie's but apparently it is quite poor, the second single put me off. Sandi's album is poor as well, I liked a couple of tracks but there was only one standout for me, Saturday Night.

80. Wideboys feat Shaznay Lewis – Daddy O - 40,30,17,16,12,20,28,39 – 8 Weeks

The chav anthem that never was? A great song which should have been huge, and that I really should have charted higher.

79. Jack White & Alicia Keys – Another Way To Die - 39,16,16,11,11,15,21,31,36 – 9 Weeks

Took a while, but I finally grew to love this song, which I never got the hate for.

78. Ashlee Simpson – Little Miss Obsessive - 39,20,27,22,21,22,28,32,36,32,26,21,23,31,34,28,33,39,40 – 19 Weeks

Not one of my favourites from the amazing Bittersweet World album but still a fab song and perhaps the most commercial of all the tracks on the album, anyway a shame the UK release was scrapped and that there was no video.

77. Agnes Carlsson – On & On - 14,14,15,16,19,24,32 – 7 Weeks

A fantastic song from Agnes which got my 12 in BJSC. Release Me is just slightly better but that doesn’t stop this being amazing!

76. Avenue – Last Goodbye - 17,10,5,8,15,15,20,34 – 8 Weeks

I was just as surprised as everyone else when a male, yes that’s right A MALE, made my top 5, shocking! A great song which I unfortunately grew tired of very quickly

25. Beyonce – I Am… Sasha Fierce

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/7/79/IAmSashaFierce.jpg/200px-IAmSashaFierce.jpg

Rather disappointing 3rd album from Queen B really, after the brilliance of If I Were A Boy and the fabulous Single Ladies I was hoping for something a little bit better than this compilation of hit and misses. Still hasn’t stopped her having what is possibly her best track yet on it though (Halo).

Highlights: Halo, Ave Maria, If I Were A Boy

24. Estelle – Shine

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/7/78/Estelle_shine.jpg/200px-Estelle_shine.jpg

I actually thought this would fly off to #1 without a hitch after the success of American Boy, but it wasn’t too be. It would also seem that after American Boy, the commercial songs end at that, the rest being even less so than her debut (The 18th Day).

Highlights: No Substitute Love, Shine, American Boy

:P

80. Wideboys feat Shaznay Lewis – Daddy O - 40,30,17,16,12,20,28,39 – 8 Weeks :w00t:

79. Jack White & Alicia Keys – Another Way To Die - 39,16,16,11,11,15,21,31,36 – 9 Weeks

78. Ashlee Simpson – Little Miss Obsessive - 39,20,27,22,21,22,28,32,36,32,26,21,23,31,34,28,33,39,40 – 19 Weeks

77. Agnes Carlsson – On & On - 14,14,15,16,19,24,32 – 7 Weeks

76. Avenue – Last Goodbye - 17,10,5,8,15,15,20,34 – 8 Weeks :wub:

Brilliant Section! :heart:

23. Panic At The Disco – Pretty Odd

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/09/PatD_-_Pretty._Odd..jpg/200px-PatD_-_Pretty._Odd..jpg

The group’s second album and follow up to 2006’s debut A Fever You Cant Sweat Out, not really that much to say really, the album itself is quite good if not strange and frankly rather bizarre. Nine In The Afternoon is by miles the best song of this album and as far as I can tell of Panic’s career to date.

Highlights: Nine In The Afternoon

22. Britney Spears – Circus

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/e1/Circus-_Album.png/200px-Circus-_Album.png

OMG Britney’s so low I hear you all cry but I really don’t see the fuss with this album, yes it’s good but I much preferred last year’s Blackout. Lead single Womanizer gets very repetitive hence why it failed to top my chart and second single Circus does nothing for me. Still of course a very good album, and as much as everyone will disagree I think Britney needs to try harder next time.

Highlights: Womanizer, If U Seek Amy, Out From Under

YAY! You included "Out From Under" in yor Highlights :D
IMO Circus is Better than Blackout, but both pale in comparison to In The Zone. Then there's the old Britney albums :P

75. The Feeling – Join With Us - 36,18,11,9,10,9,13,18,32 – 9 Weeks

The only appearance in the top 100 for The Feeling, this being their 4th single from Join With Us was quite a surprise top 10 hit but is by far the best on the album.

74. Brandy – Long Distance - 25,14,8,10 – 4 Weeks

First appearance from Brandy then, this should hopefully stick around in the top 15 for a good few weeks.

73. Sugababes – No Can Do - 38,37,36,26,15,11,7,7,7 – 9 Weeks

Latest Sugababes realese but looks likely to be their least successful

72. Sugababes – Denial - 28,30,22,17,20,28,18,8,7,6,7,11,13,23,35 – 15 Weeks

Poor Sugas, despite being one of my favourite acts, this is the highest they can manage this year.

71. Usher – Love In This Club - 25,10,8,12,14,19,27,39 – 8 Weeks

Never been an Usher fan, except for his duet with Alicia Keys but this song is a great one and a shock top 10 hit for me.

In regards to Britney's new album, Circus, I'm in FULL agreement with you. I feel the only real "stand-out" tracks are Womanizer, Circus and If You Seek Amy. Radar is another one, but that was brought over from Blackout. I think the best tracks on Blackout outshine all of Circus. I think her latest is mostly filler...

79. Jack White & Alicia Keys – Another Way To Die - 39,16,16,11,11,15,21,31,36 – 9 Weeks

74. Brandy – Long Distance - 25,14,8,10 – 4 Weeks

71. Usher – Love In This Club - 25,10,8,12,14,19,27,39 – 8 Weeks

Love those, but I think Love In This Club Pt. II is better. Usher and Beyonce's back and fourth banter with Lil' Wayne short rap portion made it far more interesting. Still a great song, though.

70. Annie – I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me - 34,15,7,6,5,11,17,19,21,27,35 – 11 Weeks

Fantastic piece of pop right here and I hope 2009 can give Annie the sucsess it deserves. This got boring quickly though hence why so low.

69. Maroon 5 – If I Never See Your Face Again - 32,16,11,5,4,2,8,14,20,23,23,24,37 – 13 Weeks

Why the hell did I put this as high as 2 I don’t know, anyway nice song but worthy to chart as high as 2, I don’t think so.

68. Adele – Hometown Glory - 15,13,8,10,16,24,32 – 7 Weeks

Didn’t quite match up to Chasing Pavements but still an absouletly fantastic song

67. Mariah Carey – Loving You Long Time 36,21,19,18,10,8,6,6,11,16,24,35 – 12 Weeks

One of Mariah’s best I’d say and im usually not really a Mariah fan, good summery song.

66. Adele – Cold Shoulder - 38,35,35,23,14,11,9,17,18,29 – 10 Weeks

A song that deserved a lot more attention than it got, fabulous.

65. Cascada – What Do You Want From Me - 38,32,18,13,10,10,8,8,10,16,20,30,38 – 13 Weeks

No one took much attention of this did they. Anyway by far my favourite from Cascada.

64. Jessica Simpson – Come On Over - 35,33,20,11,10,7,8,10,11,9,13,15,21,29,38 – 15 Weeks

type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Jessica’s first country attempt and id say she pulled it off quite well

63. Natalie Bassingthwaighte – Alive - 31,20,11,8,7,10,15,20 – 8 Weeks

Nothing groundbreaking or exiting here from Natalie but a good effort, getting bored of it now though.

62. TI feat Rihanna – Live Your Life - 20,10,6,5,9,13,20,27 – 8 Weeks

Wonderfully catchy song

61. Joss Stone – Baby Baby Baby - 31,19,9,11,16,24,28,34,39 – 9 Weeks

No youtube video im afraid but a criminally overlooked song from poor Joss Stone

The amazing songs:

Wideboys

Agnes

Brandy

Maroon 5/Rihanna

Adele (Cold Shoulder)

Mariah Carey

:wub:

I Am really is what is expected it to be... awful. Beyonce is consistant with her singles but has managed one good album.

Shine again was a huge disappointment. After the two fantastic singles I expected something amazing, I didn't like any other tracks on the album.

Panic At The Disco, are you sure? Don't have the album but I don't think I would like it. I liked the singles from their first album though.

I still haven't listened to Circus yet. I downloaded it but really can't be bothered. Blackout was so generic and I'm sure this will be the same.

  • Author

I dont think you'd like the Panic album Lewis, like i said other than Nine In The Afternoon it's nothing special, some of the songs are really rather bizzare.

Everyone seems to be totally bumming Circus except me :lol:

60. Gabriella Cilmi – Warm This Winter - 37-20-13-09-05-05-27 – 7 Weeks

name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" data-tag="youtube" data-tagfull="<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="

type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

First of three appearances for the Cilmi then at #60, fantastic tune.

59. Timbaland – Scream - 17,3,4,3,5,15,32 – 7 Weeks

My second favourite “solo” Timbaland song after Way I Are, just a shame I overplayed it so much to start with.

58. Ting Tings – Shut Up And Let Me Go 21,11,8,5,4,3,7,9,16,26,36 – 11 Weeks

The only appearance in the top 100 for the Ting Tings though perhaps That’s Not My Name should have done better than #23.

57. Estelle – American Boy - 37,28,16,10,7,7,8,13,26,39 – 10 Weeks

name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" data-tag="youtube" data-tagfull="<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="
name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="
name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The surprise #1 of the year then, only made #6 for me but would have charted higher if she wasn’t being such a b**ch at the time.

56. David Jordan – Sun Goes Down - 40,17,13,9,13,18,19,23,24,35 – 10 Weeks

Third and final appearance for David Jordan at #56, this should have charted higher than #9 for me.

55. September – Cry For You - 32,20,11,9,14,15,17,20,25,31,39 – 11 Weeks

A song that I got into very late so again should have charted a little bit higher than it did

54. Christina Aguilera – Keeps Getting Better - 35,23,18,10,8,5,10,9,7,13,16,24,29,38 – 14 Weeks

Who cares if she completely ripped off Lady GaGa, still doesn’t stop this from being fantastic does it.

53. H Two O – What’s It Gonna Be - 37,12,8,5,3,6,13,13,18,28,36 – 11 Weeks

LOL, how chavy of me. Still I just couldn’t resist this back in February

52. Alicia Keys – Superwoman - 39,31,14,12,9,7,6,6,9,12,19,29,37 – 13 Weeks

The third appearance from the godess Alicia Keys, possibly one of the best videos of the year aswell.

51. Christian Falk feat Robyn – Dream On - 33-22-14-09-05-04-06-11-18-26-22 – 11 Weeks

Whoever decided to release this in the xmas rush should be fired.

21. Alesha Dixon – Alesha Show

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/0a/The_Alesha_Show_offical_album_cover.jpg/200px-The_Alesha_Show_offical_album_cover.jpg

We are now approaching the fantastic albums of the year, I really wish I could put this higher up but the competition pushes it down. Anyway a great album and im glad Alesha has finally achieved some solo sucsess of her own.

Highlights: The Boy Does Nothing, Hand It Over, Play Me, Breathe Slow

20. Mary J Blige – Growing Pains

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/b8/Mary_J_Blige_-_Growing_Pains_album_cover.jpg/200px-Mary_J_Blige_-_Growing_Pains_album_cover.jpg

Ahh! Mary, this finally looked like she may get the recognition she deserves in the UK but alas it wasn’t too be. A fantastic effort from Mary here but it’s a rather hit and miss affair really.

Highlights: Just Fine, Fade Away, Roses

19. Jessica Mauboy – Been Waiting

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/54/Jessica_Mauboy_Been_Waiting.JPG/200px-Jessica_Mauboy_Been_Waiting.JPG

An artist I probably wouldn’t be aware of if it wasn’t for BJSC. Anyway only listened to this for the first time a week or so back so it’s still growing on me so it may pop up in next year’s countdown aswell.

Highlights: Burn, Been Waiting, Running Back
