December 29, 200816 yr i've not seen many films this year  Get Smart was very enjoyable - that was this year right? Mamma Mia! was amazing
December 29, 200816 yr Changeling The most uneasy, oppressing, stressful movie I've seen in years. Great classical directing for this horrible, horrible nightmare of a story. It's a tension that never gets resolved in any way. Angelina Jolie gets the role of her life. Great, great movie. Easy #1 (not that I've seen a whole lot this year). The Dark Knight is another one. This is in another stratosphere to any previous Batman film. Edited December 29, 200816 yr by AAC
January 1, 200916 yr After thinking this over, these would probably be my top 5: 01. Let the Right One In 02. Frost/Nixon 03. Milk 04. Slumdog Millionaire 05. The Wackness
January 5, 200916 yr Martyrs - This French horror film is excellent, a friend of mine went to see it (a horror film fan) and thought it was the sickest film he had ever seen but still very good. It is certainly quite shocking but also excellent piece of horror film-making, a must-see for true film buffs. REC - The Spanish horror film is another of my favourites this year (also The Orphanage is very good but I saw that during the last week of 2007). The Dark Knight - Very entertaining and well-made. Even thou it was quite long film it kept a good pace through the film. Atonement - a 2007 film but I only saw it this year. Great acting, great story and quite touching. Cloverfield - Better than I expected and certainly didn't overstay its welcome. Frontier(s) - Again good French horror. The Home of Dark Butterflies - a strong Scandinavian film. Rambo - it was so over the top with severed body parts flying around but also very tight-paced and very entertaining. And probably a few more that I cannot remember right now.
