Posted December 29, 200816 yr Sugababes have vowed to work slowly on their next album following disappointing sales of Catfights and Spotlights. The group's latest offering, which was written and recorded within weeks, debuted at number eight in the album chart in October before quickly falling out of the top 40. "We want to take a long while to write the next album," Keisha Buchanan told the Daily Star Sunday. "And we're going to kill it. Just watch this space." Issuing a warning to their rivals Girls Aloud and Pussycat Dolls, Amelle Berrabah commented: "Bitches better watch out. Next year we're coming back stronger." Buchanan recently confirmed that the band will be working on the album with top US producers.
December 29, 200816 yr Do you think she actually said that though!? Don't think so somehow! He got it from: http://www.digitalspy.com/music/a139376/su...next-album.html Can't wait to hear album 7. US producers .. can't wait :D
December 29, 200816 yr I HATE lazy journalism. If you're going to make up a quote, make it realistic... B!TCHES better watch out? I don't think Amelle has said that in her life LOL and I really can't see them bringing PCD into things!
December 29, 200816 yr LOL It did say that it was a Sugababes special, themselves doing it, she was obviously saying it jokingly.
December 29, 200816 yr I think Ms Thang was saying it jokingly (if she said it at all). They are raising the bar for this next album (especially after this latest offering completley bombed). They need to come harder with the next one, otherwise they might be in trouble. People are already saying they are done, which is totally not true. The lady in my siggy proved that once before, and she has to prove it again (:() unfortunetley. But yeah ... they're far from over. They are still very much on the stage.
December 29, 200816 yr Glad you think so Martin. :D You're very right (naturally). One bomb of an album isn't a career-sinker. I genuinely believe all it takes is another massive single in the late Autumn of 09 and they'll be back on top. BUT the label/management or whoever makes the decisions really need to learn a few things from this era: *Artwork - spend a bit of money for god's sake! I'm sure some people were put off by the pretty dodgy C&S cover... *Release dates - pick a date and stick to it. When you tell the fans a date don't change it and worse, don't not tell them you've changed it! *Styling - this is down to the girls themselves. They need to dress their age. At the minute it seems like only Amelle does that. But most importantly the second single should not be a Christmas affair. Twice now that has failed. Wait 'til Jan. The Saturdays at the minute are showing that can pay off.
December 29, 200816 yr Yes, they need to pay attention to the smalls. I can give you a list of what went wrong with 'WWM'. I'm sure you know already, but that list looks somewhat similar to this era's too. What label are they on? And I seen an advert for the album on Nickelodeon. Ms Thang looks really good in "No Can Do". I'm beginning to like her.
December 29, 200816 yr Jark - go in the Jamelia forum. There's a new photoshoot of her in there. She looks a mess.
January 3, 200916 yr It sounds like a typical jokey comment to me. Good news though, I'm glad they've realised they need to take time away to be really big again. ^_^
January 4, 200916 yr Issuing a warning to their rivals Girls Aloud and Pussycat Dolls, Amelle Berrabah commented: "Bitches better watch out. Next year we're coming back stronger." I don't know if she really said that, but it's funny how the GA/SB arguement ALWAYS comes up in the SB interviews. I don't remember a single GA interview in which they were questionned about the SB/GA rivality, maybe GA management bans such silly questions, and SB management should do the same. Because even if she said that in a jocking way, that makes her look like a girl desperate to have the same success than GA or the PCD (though the PCD ain't selling many more albums than them in the UK anyway). I think she should just leave it and focus on picking up better songs.
January 4, 200916 yr It doesn't make her sound desperate, it makes her sound like she possesses a sense of humour. You could always try it...
January 4, 200916 yr Yes, I said the ladies need to stop talking about GA. I don't think Ms Thang sounds desperate though. I don't know much about her, but from what I've seen she seems like a tough cookie with a sense of humour. I think she was joking when she said it.
January 5, 200916 yr I can see her saying it. Then giggling afterwards but It was probably to show how determined they are, I think they know they've got raise thier game to please the pop fans even though CF&SL was amazing.
