Posted January 1, 200916 yr the Jing Jang Jong award for most hyped epic fail of 2009 Whic of all the newbies hyped in the press at the moment is gonna be the one that nobody is intersted in come 2010? who's gonna be built up so far that backlash is immediate and they fall into a nomans land of randomness nonenterties headed by the asian bloke in a dress from babylon zoo and random menswe@r people...which acts of the current 'big stars of 2009 campaign' do you think will be over-hyped and let us down...who will be the ones???
January 1, 200916 yr I know I'm probably going to be wrong, but I see La Roux and/or Florence and the Machine being the most hyped flops... But I really do hope I'm wrong!
January 1, 200916 yr i like the name  they didnt even manage an album did they? i reckon this year's award will go to White Lies.
January 1, 200916 yr Florence will be the most hyped by quite some margin i'd say. Acts like Little Boots and White Lies (for example anyway) will be pretty hyped up by their record companies, but none of them will compare to Florence. She's already had her song used on a major advert and has already won a BRIT award. I'm not sure whether her success will be forced success, or actual success however...
January 1, 200916 yr I don't see Florence flopping, but I see her underperforming a la Adele...La Roux won't do amazingly, but she won't flop on JL+JJJ levels. Possibly Mumford and Sons or Dan Black?

January 1, 200916 yr Florence will do fine. Big demographic who'll buy into her music. Dan Black/Frankmusik strike me as two to underperform. Joe Lean scrapped his album because it was old. New one out in 2009. Was still a very odd decision...
January 5, 200916 yr Frankmusik will underperform - well, perform as well as he deserves ;) I think La Roux will need to be picked up by a major - Kitsune haven't enough to push the act. The problem is, this will lead to greater expectation and they'll be dropped well before they should be or would be with a small label. Sometimes the hype's a real killer.

La Roux always has been with a major i.e. Polydor. They just decided to release 'Quicksand' on Kitsune to buy her some "indie cred".
January 7, 200916 yr Author La Roux always has been with a major i.e. Polydor. They just decided to release 'Quicksand' on Kitsune to buy her some "indie cred". and we hope that they (plus maybe rollo and dido if you want - there's an associatan there you wanna think about) get dropped into a large unescapable area of quicksand...would be for the best
March 15, 201015 yr ERGH! I was once a fan of La Roux and Florence & The Machine? Flo+The Machine though I think it was around the time I heard 'Kiss With A Fist' so I was probably talking about her at the time, as opposed to La Roux, where I have never liked 'Quicksand' Oh how times change! LOL
March 16, 201015 yr I love how Little Boots will have undoubtedly 'won' this by miles... I don't :snif:
March 16, 201015 yr I'd have definitely thought it was between Frankmusik and that Dan Black person, maybe Dan Black slipped so beneath the radar that it wasn't noticed.
