I've begun watching that. Only because I'm a shameless Caroline Quention fanboy...

Jean does not make boring TV. I thought it was you who wanted reality in this show? She's as realistic as anything ever will be on EE. GOD knows how they found somebody who was so convincing an actress...

i wasnt being critical of her acting, nor the reality of it..... but watching paint dry is real and very boring. its just a storyline that whilst being realistic, is to me simply zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I have to admit I don't really get what it is you expect from EE. It's unrealistic (Lauren driving a car) and you don't like it. It's realistic, and you find it boring?

Is there actually going to be any point where EE will do anything right for you?

I for some reason am really enjoying the Danielle/Ronnie storyline. Idk why, I feel I shouldn't but it's quite compelling viewing. I don't seem to be alone with that thought either, on various soap forums there seems to be tonnes of discussion and threads around it. I wonder why it's proving so popular.

It's certainly better than that Denise/Lucas storyline. Her continuous shouting is getting on my wick ):

Callum Monks to leave 'EastEnders' (There is a God!)

EastEnders actor Elliott Jordan is to leave the Walford-based soap when his character's planned storyline arc comes to a head. The 25-year-old actor joined the soap in June last year as jack-the-lad ladies' man Callum Monks.

Upon his arrival, Callum immediately took a shine to Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), who eventually told her husband Bradley Branning (Charlie Clements) that she no longer loved him. In an attempt to move on, Stacey embarked on a rocky romance with her new flame.

Jordan, who has already finished filming with the Walford-based soap, will remain on screen until early spring.

A source told DS: "Viewers will learn a little more about Callum before he leaves Albert Square behind. It won't be long before we see Elliott back on television, though - he already has something else lined up."

Speaking of his departure, he said: "I've had a really great time at EastEnders and I've enjoyed working with all the cast. I've loved every minute of it and I’m looking forward to trying new things."

And...

Potential love for Bradley joins 'Enders

Bradley Branning's love life could take a turn for the better in EastEnders next month when newcomer Syd Chambers arrives on the Square.

The outgoing and quirky character - played 23-year-old actress Nina Toussaint-White - will make her first appearance in Walford on Friday, February 6 when her dog Sugar takes a shine to Bradley's new canine companion Gumbo, a huge St Bernard.

After losing Gumbo, a worried Bradley is relieved when Syd turns up on his doorstep with the news that she's found Gumbo in the park. Inviting her into the house for a drink, Bradley wonders whether Syd could be a potential new love match.

Speaking of her part, Nina said: "I have been a fan of EastEnders for as long as I can remember and I am extremely excited to be working on such a great show. Finding out I got the job was exciting, but standing on the Square for the first time was amazing although very surreal."

She added: "I'm looking forward to working with Charlie Clements and seeing what Syd is going to get up to." Her previous screen appearance include Casualty and Primeval.

yes the danielle storyline is good but so frustrating i just wish she would tell ronnie she is my mother

I agree. Danielle is a crap actress, its about time she should tell Ronnie, the storyline is getting so old and tired now, how long are they going to string it, its getting boring now..

As for Dotty aka Kirsty, she just reminds me of the girl in the Omen remake.

And everytime I see Marissa, she gives me the willies. "shudders" ugly as mutt

Sorry ... but Dotty looks like Alex Turner to me!

If she and Nick are taking Dot for every penny though ... good luck to them. We're expected to believe she's Mother Theresa and yet she shoved Jim off to a care home before you could say 'Aunt Bessie'. Tosh of the highest order and a load of old bollocks!

norma if you followed eastenders you would know that is far from what really happened with dot, plus in this particular case you have to take into accouint what is actually going on in real life with jim,and in accordance to that the jim and dot storyline has been handled brilliantly
Friday's epi was hugely amusing  However crap Dotty/Kirsty is she does make me laugh with her elongated syllables! Watching tonight's later...
I wish they'd rest Janine for a bit. OVERUSED isn't the word.

Just a pedantic quibble ... but please indulge or inform me! I'm assuming that all the houses in 'the square' are approximately the same size. So how come Dot denied Bradley a place to stay saying that "the 'arse wouldn't be big enough what with little Dottie ... and Jim you know" ... and yet a few doors down Pat has had up to 125 people in her 'arse at any one time. Similarly, Ian's 'arse has been roomy enough for a fair number too!

Explanations please?

Having said that ... Phil Mitchell was funny tonight when he said 'not there ... that's my chair'.
