I don't think they did ask Kim back actually. The BBC3 doco on Daniella's return featured interviews with Diederick which suggested Daniella was who they wanted from the offset. I'm not bothered in the slightest that she's leaving so soon, although it might've been funny to see her fail spectacularly during the live episode in February!

 

A few spoilers regarding upcoming storylines:

One litlle thing troubling me about fridays episode was when ricky said he asked jack to get info from his ex work mates about who reported sam,why would jack who is Bianca;s uncle land her in it with the mitchells, to me it didnt make sense.

 

EE have always been very bad in remembering Bianca's Branning ties though. You would really never know she's related to Max, Jack, Bradley etc. The number of scenes they've had together can be counted on one hand.

I prefer to believe she was on a trial period and she FAILED. I don't believe that they went to ALL this effort, all this hype and promo, trying to convince the media they weren't making a big cock up, just for the sake of a pointless three month delay to the inevitable Ricky/Bianca reunion.

I think that after the wife swap Tanya realises she's pregnant and it looks as if there's a chance Ian could be the father?! Either way her character becomes preggers which is going to lead to her temporary exit.

 

Update to Daniella story:

 

Speaking exclusively to DS this morning, EastEnders' executive producer Diederick Santer said: "When Danniella and I first sat down to talk about her return, we discussed a particular storyline with a specific length of contract. These plans haven't changed. Danniella has done brilliantly and I hope that she will be back with us at some point in the future."

 

A spokesperson for the show this morning told DS: "Danniella was bought back to EastEnders for a specific storyline and a set amount of time only. We are not going into the exact details as we don’t want to spoil the storyline for our viewers but Danniella's contract has not been cut short - in fact it has been extended slightly."

 

They added: "We have been thrilled with how Sam Mitchell's return has been received with our audience and hope that they continue to enjoy her storylines over the next few months."

 

A source added: "Sam's story is interweaved with lots of others - expect fireworks. In typical Mitchell style, though, she won't go quietly. The door will remain open for Sam - and Danniella - to return in the future."

 

Since her return, Westbrook has explained in various interviews that she had reprised the role "for a limited time". When asked how long she would be filming for, she told the soap's official site: "Only a short while, which was the deal. I've just come in to get the story done."

It makes total sense thay she returned short term as she didnt want to be back full time, as we spectated a while back we said she may only be back to push ricky and bianca back together and thats what they are going with, likewise there was no possible way out for sam to come back and escape jail so it makes perfect sense.

We all know what this "big storyline" is going to be don't we, you can see it coming a mile off
