If U Seek Amy is set to be censored

Britney Spears "If U Seek Amy" has already caused controversy, being confirmed as her third single. The singer has infuriated an Australian mother's group with the lyrical content of her third single from Circus. In the

song, Britney sings "All of the boys and all of the girls are beggin' to, If You Seek Amy" which, when sung quickly, sounds like "F.*.*.K me."

"I was astonished and totally taken aback when I heard my five and seven-year-old-kids walking around the house singing 'f**k'," mother Leona Barsenbach told Undercover.com.au."

When I asked them what it was, they told me it was Britney Spears. I was horrified. I got them the Circus album because little kids are Britney fans, but there was no warning on the album and none of the songs listed had f**k in the title. Listening to it, it is extremely blatant and offensive. I feel I have been deceived into believing that this was acceptable content for children but instead it is objectionable."

Britney releases her new single 'Circus' in the UK on February 16.

"If U Seek Amy" is set to be censored! There is rumoured "Radio Edit" leaked, and the chorus goes like this: "All of the boys and all of the

girls and begging to...Seek Amy"

That's ridiculous!! ^

I don't actually mind the song, it's clever. Pop production wise though, it's brilliant!

  If it was to offend, then it would have a "Parental Advisory - Explicit Content" Ticket on the front of the album! I find it hard to sing them lyrics, so if a 5 year old can sing them, then  Some mothers take it well over the top TBH!

It's not necessarily going to be censored. The one I saw that had leaked online, and was probably the same one Nick was talking about, is probably fan made. That's what a majority of others seem to think of the supposed "radio edit" too.

I don't even think there's a point to having a censored radio edit. IT'S IN THE TITLE OF THE SONG. If that is the case, then I think a new single should be chosen instead!

Even if they censor it to just 'Seek Amy' it will still be a smash.
The censored version doesn't sound much different when you listen. You can still clearly here what she's getting at.
Sorry, but I hope they edit it something better coz that sounds stupid! Can't they just change the lyrics or something! I don't know what too, maybe 'Just Seek Amy' or something  Coz if they don't then I would like them to change the single choice! :(
I don't think the edit is that bad actually, I was expecting worse. Does kinda beg the question though, why potentially ruin a great song when there are others to choose from?
Its kinda $h!t, is this edit official?
That edit is crap. The point of the song is the cheeky-ness of F-U-C-K ME, without that what's the point? It's a good song, but if they have to remove the best part of it to get it played, then release Unusual You instead.
Awful edit! I'd say: leave the song as it is or change the single...
This isn't official, but if it is then it's still great imo.

This is by FAR the best song on the album imo!!! AND im saying this as a very casual britney fan!! I thought womanizer was AWFUL.....circus however was great. When my brother lent me a copy of her album....If you seek amy stood out (as did out from under....hopefully thats the 4th single)

And as for the reported "outrage" from people over the lyrics blah blah blah.....that can only work in its favour as she'll get a HELLUVA lot of free promotion....and instead of the usual "britney's trainwreck life" newstories....it is actually focusing on her music and believe me...people will go on youtube JUST to hear the song and see what all the fuss is about

Strong choice - definitely one of the best on the album.

I'm kind of split on whether this song should be released to radio; morally, anyway. I think a lot of the breakdown in society can partly be attributed to music. Believe me, I'm not one of these "politically correct" individuals but I'm thinking - as a loving parent - would I want my young child singing along to this? You can be angered all you like with the censoring, but it's the labels fault for releasing this and not having a "back up" radio edit that is actually half decent. Anyone with half a brain could see that people would jump on this release.
