Eek, hope Lady GaGa can hold on a while yet. Good to see Shontelle moving upwards aswell, really hopeit can brake top 20 eventually.

GA getting very very close to alexandra :D

Can someone give me the lowdown on single ladies. Is it an album track download up to now? I see the video on the music channels all the time.

What?

I know it's crazy! But that's what a source on her fansite said

It's a B-side that got too big for it's boots and started getting popular. It's on Radio 1 Playlist now as well so it's all very bizarre.

It's not a b-side. It has been promoted to radio in the UK and the video released in the UK. In effect it's the second single.

You could call it a dual single or a sister single I suppose to IIWAB. It's becoming more common for crossover artists in the States to release different singles simultaneously to different radio formats.

I don't understand how Broken Strings has stayed that high for so long - was the main reason for it climbing the Girls Aloud Party? :o

I doubt it because the loving kind would be in the top 5 if its the girls aloud party affecting downloaders

Why does a b-side have a video?

Cos, it was a Single in the US, and as the vid has proved popular round the globe, vid stations, started playing it, and now it's Top 10! Due to this it ha sfinally been playlisted on R1 and is increasing from the minnows on commercial. All in all, this song is gonna delay 'Halo' whichever way you look at it. I can see it hangin roung the top 10 for at least another 6 weeks!

Interestingly it's Beyonce's IIWAB who is no.9, who GA and Kanye are hunting [she could be the one not to stay top 10 tbh], although they are all selling practically peanuts, hence why nothing is changing!

Single Ladies was a double a side to If I Were A Boy in America, and because the song was so popular her record company released the vid here too but the reason why it is climbing is mainly due to it's massive success in America tbh.

Yeh but it does seem that the GA party gave massive publicity to the james morrison song. I mean i didnt really pay much attention to it until the GA party and i have heard so many radio DJ's refer to the show when playing it. I think GA did a lot for him. I mean its a really good song but i definately think GA got it noticed.

Broken Strings jumped 10 spots on iTunes after the Girls Aloud Party, when it was the official week of release. Of course that helped those weeks, but its having longevity because it's a good song. Isn't this like one of his biggest radio hist too?

TLK is another story though, why would be Top 10 today when the GA party was 1 month ago. LOL

I thought The Sats would be climbing close to Kevin, after Alan Titchmarsh show & Msn headlines.
"If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies" were two simultaneous singles for Beyonce. IIWAB was released to CHR/POP, while SL was released to Urban and CHR/Rhythmic, the same week. The main effect for SL is the video though.

But a performance with one of britians best loved bands can do wonders for you for more than a couple of weeks ^_^

If you bought IIWAB's physically, Single Ladies came with it.

If you bought IIWAB's physically, Single Ladies came with it.

Which is why I'm not sure I believe Single Ladies is getting a release. Everyone who bought the IIWAB CD will already have it.

Well thats either a b-side or a double A then. Though it cant be a double A if its not in the title right?

If the song was on IIWAB single, why are people saying its not a b-side?

It should not be released on its own, thats just crazy!

They're not on Alan Titchmarsh until tomorrow.
