January 10, 200916 yr I wish I had posted on here earlier because I predicted that Damien and Charlotte would be the bottom 2 and that Andrew would save Charlotte. Damien was among my favourites but I can totally understand why the public didn't go for that performance, as it just wasn't as dynamic as the rest, and actually made him seem quite old. I think if he had performed that at Eurovision, as competant as he was, it would have finished close to the bottom. I wish they had let him sing at the piano. Jade was head and shoulders above the rest, but like I've always said, we need a Shady Lady. Jade is a Shady Lady. But I cannot see Andrew Lloyd Webber writing a Shady Lady for her. Still, a power ballad may not be a bad thing. She is a diva, and she could well finish top ten regardless of what she sings as long as it isn't too dated. Mark went up alot in my estimations tonight by the way.
January 10, 200916 yr I totally agree but we all remember what the Great British public choice two year's ago between Cyndi & Scooch. I voted for Scooch two years ago and don't regret it at all, I've always loved Flying The Flag, because Europop is a genre that I love Cyndi's song became very good on about the 5th listen but initially sounded like You Raise Me Up
January 10, 200916 yr Or The Bonny Banks Of Loch Lomond (note for note). I love Europop too but to be honest, Scooch was not good Europop and was too camp and contrived for Europe to buy into. I think they felt like they weren't part of the joke...

January 10, 200916 yr I can see what ALW is doing, he has got his eyes on 2 acts EOS and Jade Ewan for sure than its all down to the public vote on the last show, I think he will weed the others out week by week, I really thought Charlotte would be going home tonight after her performance she looked like the weakest link, Damien came as a shock to me more than anything.
January 10, 200916 yr Surely you must have realised it was far and away the worse option of the two for Europe though! :( I voted for it when it was out of 6, not out of 2, and they had by far the best performance, it had me in stitches the first time  it was so unexpectedly funny

January 11, 200916 yr Your Country Needs You - Winner Betfair.com odds: Jade 4/7 odds on fav The Twins 3/1 Mark 5/1 Emperors Of Soul 25/2 Charlotte 22/1
January 11, 200916 yr The Twins to win: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h228/glamking_2006/DSCF6385twin1fingerz.jpg Edited January 11, 200916 yr by myfriendstan
January 11, 200916 yr Well having now caught up with everyones performances i think it has to be between either Mark or Jade. Both would be able to deliver the goods. I think Andrew could do a great song for The Twins but their voices might not be good enough. Jade obviously would be better with a fast song but i doubt thats what they have in mind. Anything but Charlotte or Emperors of Soul please. And whilst i think the BBC could have found a far stronger group of performers for us to select from i am very impressed by the Andrew/Diane combination! Definitely a chance of a semi decent placing i think now - provided we dont perform second on the night!
January 11, 200916 yr Emperors of Soul= Belong on the Mowtown Tribute circuit, but were fairly average and Eurovision ISN'T Mowtown, Belle & The Devotions tried that trick with a Diana Ross rip off Love Games: Mark= Thought AWL was trying to get away from the pantomime, that the UK entries of recent years had become. Charlotte= Has a weak voice but appeals to ALW on the fact that she's the youngest and has the most to learn, the West End stage is where she belongs, not Eurovision. Jade= Quite good, in a girl band, but on her own was weak and who wanted Diane Warren to write a song for her, thrown in at the last minute. The Twins= Excellent, wrong choice of song though, have got the voices and the looks and the stage presence, can perform with confidence to a large audience in a large venue, have been on the same bill as Girls Aloud James Blunt and a host of others. You lot wait until the contestants have to perform an uptempo number, something with a bit of a beat. The Twins v Jade in the final.
January 11, 200916 yr I thought Damien was probably the 3rd best last night, but the British Public are always weird. I think the Twins will definatley be in the final. personally I'd like to see Mark vs Jade. either of them winning would be good imo
January 11, 200916 yr Only Jade will get us any success in Moscow. The twins are average singers and lack the charm they are supposed to have... Charlotte is a bit meh... The quintet act are distinctly bland and that other bloke is some hellish Bryan Adams impersonator. Jade is far from amazing, but she's the best out of a bad bunch!
January 11, 200916 yr Even Leona won't bring success in Moscow.. It's too political it's 90% certain an Eastern European country will win with it's Eastern bloc votes. Russia again probably since that has the most land borders! I think there should be 2 contests: Eastern Eurovision Western Eurovision (Which includes the big 4) Let's see how far Eastern Euro would get without Western financing! Let the Easterns do their unfair voting and the West can play it fair like we always do! Edited January 11, 200916 yr by Liam-M

I don't think this is always true, Ireland nearly always give the UK 8 points no matter what we send, but we applaud them, yet are happy to sneer when other neighbours give each other votes
January 11, 200916 yr I don't think this is always true, Ireland nearly always give the UK 8 points no matter what we send, but we applaud them, yet are happy to sneer when other neighbours give each other votes That's only 8 points, and it could be because we like the same music. All of Eastern Europe are political. Name one that doesn't give 12 points to a neighbouring country.
January 11, 200916 yr I keep tellin ya the twins will win it http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h228/glamking_2006/FrancineNicolajpgbackstage.jpg

IT COULD BE BECAUSE WE LIKE THE SAME MUSIC?! :manson: LISTEN TO WHAT THE f*** YOU ARE SAYING. Why the hell is all of Eastern Europe 'political'? :manson: Have you not stopped to think that maybe THEY might like the same music? :manson: Get out of here with your ridiculous cultural elitism! Have you even BOTHERED to listen to any of our entries lately as opposed to what most of eastern Europe has been sending? We've sent DIRE CRAP for the last few years, completely uncredible stuff that barely dents OUR music scene, and you have the nerve to say that we've failed because of politics and that we couldn't do well if we sent Leona, an established star popular in Europe? Look at Norway last year! Fifth after sending a classy song by one of their stars! I defy you to say we couldn't do the same if we actually took this contest seriously and sent someone of credibility (like Jade - not perfect, but a start) to represent us! I recommend you take a look at this  http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61463
