I’ve already said the #19 prediction wasn’t entirely serious and the underestimation was a response to the general over enthusiastic predictions. Which as I demonstrated with the ‘Never Again’ thread tend to be a tad high on here. So I’m not defending any outrageous prediction or digging any holes.

 

In fact I’m merely stating that this isn’t necessarily going to be the mega smash that you and others are predicting.

 

On the contrary you were quite serious about your prediction, you just seem to have realised the need to backtrack now...

People... this is a prediction thread from what I've heard, in the end someone will be wrong and someone will be right, it's that simple. I really think this song would struggle doing top 10 if it wasn't for Kelly singing it.

I'm not saying that predictions AREN'T too good on here, but this single, has had Positive critical reviews, whereas 'Never Again' didn't have half as many positives. So it is totally different to the 'Never Again' predictions. People are taking into account the US Airplay, UK Promotion and Positive Critical reviews, which most of the time, count up to be a BIG Hit.

To be fair, it isn't necessarily not going to be the mega smash people are predicting, though?

It's fair enough that you don't like the song or don't think it's going to be a hit. You're allowed your own opinion on it.

But surely if the majority are saying it's going to be a hit, they actually like it and do genuinely believe it's going to be a hit?

The chart's are so unpredictable nowadays, you can never be sure a song is going to be a hit.

Just look at Estelle for example, if you'd have looked back on her track record you'd never have said that she was going to be number 1 last year.

Past facts & figures (singles wise) are a load of rubbish now, because it's a completely different scene altogether now.

Judging by your activity in the Kelly Clarkson forum you are clearly the boards Kelly Clarkson fanatic/loon. Hence the glaringly obvious lack of objectivity.

 

You have consistently failed to provide any reasoned or intelligent responses and have relied on the lamest argument going that ‘it is because I say so…’.

 

What you fail to realise is that anyone with a modicum of intelligence can see through your thinly veiled arguments/insults and see someone who can simply not accept/cope with another poster criticising their favourite artist.

But whatever. Who can give definitive proof anything is going to #1? At this time it's pretty much impossible. Everything is an "indication" and that's why this is a prediction thread. It's blowing up on US radio, so that's the most suggestive argument it will be a hit stateside. There's no evidence to suggest it will be smash over here. But I don't think anyone's guaranteed it, have they? A lot of people are making predictions based on their interpretation of the song, but music is subjective, isn't it? If Kelly is someone's favourite artist, they might be a little oblivious, but it's the same in every walk of life. Everyone is bias sometimes.

 

I just don't get your point. I don't know why you would want to be the "mood" killer and point everyones subjectivity out. The whole "bad guy/asshole" gimmick got tired a long time ago.
