January 22, 201015 yr Dollhouse is f***ing amazing! Started watching three days ago and got past first season finale the day before yesterday :kink: Can't believe this is the end. I just must watch them episodes slowly now to long the joy. :drama:
January 30, 201015 yr Author Has anyone seen the finale? It was really heartfelt and optimistic. Fantastic ending IMO. Eliza Dushku finally showed off her REAL acting skills during the scene where she was reacting from Pauls death I really did feel sorry for her. And then the ending made me go all goo goo gah gah in a good way :) Im gonna miss having this show. Stupid FOX <_<
January 31, 201015 yr The ratings for the finale were awful, only 2.2mil :( Beaten by frickin' Smallville!

January 31, 201015 yr :puke: Smallville is so boring now, I wish they extended Dollhouse to at least one more season. :(
February 2, 201015 yr What a BIG FUKKIN' SURPRISE, Joss Whedon being shafted by Fox AGAIN....... <_< I really, really loathe and despise that network with a passion.... Joss, seriously, next time, take your plans to HBO, FX or Showtime....
February 2, 201015 yr You know that Fx is a Fox owned network right? Dollhouse was cancelled because it didn't draw in the viewers. No viewers, no advertisers. No advertisers, no revenue. No revenue, no money for new shows. Fox is a business at the end of the day. Dollhouse wasn't living up to their expectations so it got canned. It probably would have done better on HBO who would accept the lower viewers but the shows budget would no doubt have been smaller. I'm sorry but when a repeat draws twice the amount of viewers in your timeslot when your off air you really can't expect a renewal.

Dollhouse had a small fanbase which FOX done f*** all to increase..
February 2, 201015 yr It didn't in it's first season, it still got a $h!t load of viewers. I love Dollhouse, i really do but it's not something the casual viewer 'gets'.
February 2, 201015 yr Author It didn't in it's first season, it still got a $h!t load of viewers. Timeslot of Bones S1: Tuesday 8:00 pm (2005) Wednesday 8:00 pm (2006) Of course its gonna get more viewers than a show that was only ever shown on a friday night...
February 4, 201015 yr Of course its gonna get more viewers than a show that was only ever shown on a friday night... Exactly... Who the fukk is gonna watch a show on a Friday...? Or really at any point over the weekend...? Fox was incredibly short-sighted when it came to this show... In fact, the way they've treated Joss Whedon generally is pretty abysmal.... Bones is frankly sh!t compared to Dollhouse.... Predictable, CSI-lite (which is itself rather "Silent Witness/Waking the Dead"-lite) rubbish....

Predictable, CSI-lite (which is itself rather "Silent Witness/Waking the Dead"-lite) rubbish.... Which shows you don't get the show at all and probably have only watched one episode if any at all. Bones is not a CSI show. It's not a forensics's based show, in 98episodes i've seen one finger print lifting. Sure, they solve murders, but the show is driven by characters and the sensational character development rather than crimes. In the process of solving a crime you see the characters grow. Booth and Brennan have some sensational chemistry. David and Emily are terrific actors. Plus what other show has crimes solved by a Forensic Anthropologist studying the victims Bones to tell you their age, what they looked like, their favourite sport, what age they broke bones at, how old the remains are and where they grew up and a FBI special agent? Oh, and in a season 4 episode there isn't even a murder. No denying Dollhouse is a fantastic show, but this is a business. Decisions don't always go our way. It failed to deliver on the ratings, somehow it got a second season. Unless it miraculously gained a million viewers [and they are out there seeing as 4million+ can tune into various repeats, and not just on Fox] it was always going to be canned after this season. At least Fox gave Dollhouse a proper finish unlike Fireflies.

It's not a forensics's based show,  Of course it is.... She's a FORENSIC anthropologist... She (and Booth) finds bones, dead bodies, solves CRIMES.... Everything else is just window dressing.... And frankly, it's getting rather annoying window dressing at that.... Let's compare Bones to, oh, I dunno, Silent Witness shall we...? Silent Witness similarly deals with the characters' personalities and personal lives, but never, ever forgets what it is - Forensics-based drama, and a damn good one too..... The recent two part story "Shadows" is amongst the best drama I've ever seen..... Bones has become so unbelievably wishy-washy after the first two seasons....

The B&B romance is being tediously drawn out the now. The 5th season is the best since the 2nd by far. Since the xmas hiatus there has been shift in the momentum, everything is apparently leading to the 100th ep where the B&B relationship is set to change, in a good way. By all accounts it looks like they will finally get together at the end of this season, if not then it'll be in the start of the 6th. It's only so long before people get bored of the will they won't they. I haven't seen Silent Witness yet, but will be sure to check it out. Oh, and i don't class Bones as a forensics drama primarily due to the distinct lack of forensic science. CSI is all about the examination of the scene and the evidence from the scene. All that is done off screen by the FBI techs on Bones. Interesting you glided past the last part of my post...
