January 26, 200917 yr When you consider that some classic albums (Rumours-Fleetwood Mac, Bat Out Of Hell-Meat Loaf, Greatest Hits-Queen, Legend-Bob Marley & The Wailers, Under A Blood Red Sky-U2..etc. etc.) spent hundreds of weeks on chart, often bounding back into the top30 YEARS after their original release - it's not that much of a phenomenon. In fact, on that basis, we could see Beautiful World hanging around the chart for a few more years yet ;) Disclaimer: Many weeks of the quoted albums were taken from the days when the top 100 albums were considered the Official Chart...more albums enter the top75 nowadays...and (he says, cringing away from the Take That fans) I wouldn't consider Beautiful World to be a "Classic Album" :P Totally, and it amazes me that some of these managed 200+ weeks, but they are considered "classic", as said is BW "a classic"? Boybands normally appeal to a narrow but loyal core market who have large impact but poor longevity in chart terms so TT's achievement is quite something, though i think they've transcended their old image by becoming a "man band" In terms of phenomenon, i didn't really mean just weeks top75 but sales (opening and subsequent), having a successful sustained comeback by any measure compared to so many other 90s bands, etc. Thanks for answering re IWFL Norma though still surprised that their core fanbase didn't all buy it on release week and at least get it top 10 considering their other songs since reforming have charted 1-1-2-1 (and would've been 4-1's surely if they'd been against anyone but Leona). Interesting on Lily, but likely no1 this week so no worries :)
January 26, 200917 yr Take Me Back is one of the worst tracks Tinchy has done, ever. I hope the new album is as good as Cloud 9.
