Chart Commentary:Week 148
The Killers are back at no.1, becoming only the second band in TOTB history to make a return to the top (The other was Arctic Monkeys with 'Fluorescent Adolescent' back in summer 2007 - and they did it twice!). It is a well-deserved re-entry at no.1 however as 'Spaceman' is undoutedly the best song of 2009 so far. At no.2 is a strong contender for one of the strongest songs of the year so far. 'Skeleton Boy' sees Friendly Fires follow-up their incredible autumn release 'Paris', thus earning themselves a 2nd consecutive top 3 hit and it's also worth noting that their self-titled debut is also the first no.1 album of 2009 in my Album Chart (See below). Another climber this week is 'Life In Technicolor ii' which has shot up to no.4 from it's no.6 entry position last week. It's also by far Coldplay's best video to date so if you haven't seen the genius vid, check it out in the Video Vault. Just the one new entry this week courtesy of the Wombats who make their chart return with the first sample of their new material. 'My Circuit Board City' enters at no.7 (Though it will climb, I promise), and is also featured in what can only be described as one of the best Video Vaults i've had for a long while. The rest of the chart (with the exception of White Lies who stick at no.9), are fallers
