On the most hated front, I expected Leeds United (their Munich (anti-Man Utd) & Hillsborough (anti-Liverpool) chants are/were/to infinity will be unforgiveable) to be first; with Millwall (BNP supporters) second.

I'm very surprised Tottenham appear in the top 20 most loved list.

I am surprised we are not in the hate list lol :o

We have bitter rivalry with Scum, Chelsea, West Ham and the entire media hates us so thought we would be in the Top 3 hated

Tbh, I don't think those lists can be taken seriously for 3 reasons

1) Sunderland aren't in the well liked list despite the fact EVERYBODY loves us (Especially Sky, the Referees and Alan Shearer)

2) Newcastle are in the well liked list. Wtf?

3) It's the Sun

Olivia's club's the most loved? She's gonna love that.

Liverpool are hated quite alot, more so than most of that 20 lol

Yes they are pretty hated, and I was shocked myself that they weren't in the Top 20 most hated as a lot of people don't like them but i'd have put them in the lower ends of the chart definitely... no way are they as more hated as the likes of West Ham, Millwall, Man Utd, Leeds etc.

I'm not surprised Leeds United were top of the poll. I knew it would be between them and Manchester United (although in Man U's case the hatred will have been driven by jealousy probably ... and that's coming from a Man U fan!)

I'm not surprised Liverpool are so high on the 'most loved' teams and neither am I surprised at Arsenal. Until I moved to Wigan, married a Wiganer, and then experiencing the joy of Wigan joining the Premier League after 28 years in the football league, my two favourite teams were 1st Liverpool, 2nd Arsenal. We've spent many a great weekend down in North London and been in 'lock-ins' surrounded by Arsenal fans ... and they were the best!

I presume Villa are in the most hated purely from Birmingham rivals.

Apart from recently pundits and the like never treated us well, we still never get credited for a good performance if we draw or win against one of the big four. Look at the 2-2 with Arsenal we completely outplayed them in the first half and all but 15 minutes of the second but the pundits only talked about Arsenal's faults and what they did wrong.

There is a huge gooner bias in the broadcast media

Alan Smith, Lee Dixon, Paul Merson, Ian Wright and a few other ex Scum players are football pundits so there is a massive anti Spurs sentiment in the broadcast media

The print media has warmed to us a bit more now that Redknapp is in charge as he always gives them quotes but I remember the disgraceful media witchunt against us after Lasagnegate and after the Sol chanting where the taboids falsely accused us of being racists when we have the most black players in the country pretty much, the Sol song was about as racist as I am

Both Tim Sherwood and Jamie Redknapp are fairly regular pundits for Setanta I think, Les Ferdinand and Garth Crooks (LOL) are BBC regulars, Linekar presents MOTD. Huge Arsenal bias....

Edit: David Pleat also spouts a load of nonsence at any given opportunity on ITV too.

If you don't think 'hanging from a tree' is racist you need to brush up on your history mate.

Hanging from a tree was a reference to the idea / wish that he would commit suicide, the song was created just after his mental breakdown at the West Ham v Arsenal game where he disappeared for a few days, look at the first liine "Sol Sol wherever you may be" the song was about his mental state and that he might commit suicide, nothing to do with the KKK

The song was created 2 days after the West Ham v Arsenal game

Sol, Sol, wherever you may be,

You’re on the verge of lunacy,

And we won’t give a f*** when you’re hanging from a tree,

You Judas c**t with HIV

"And we won't give a f*** when your hanging from a rope/garage/tie/ladder etc etc" just wouldn't fit in with the song so tree was included as the method of suicide as it rhymed, nothing sinister :)

And why are Scünthorpe 9th in the most hated list?
