Jade Goody was told yesterday that her cervical cancer has spread.

The TV reality star is now facing a desperate fight for life after learning she has secondary tumours growing in her liver, bowel and groin.

Doctors have now scrapped their previous estimate that she had a 40 per cent chance of survival and began treating the mum-of-two to prolong her life as long as possible.

The 27-year-old told today's Sun newspaper: 'I am devastated. I am angry. I don't want to die because I have so much to live for.

'The reality is I have gone from a 40 per cent chance of a cure to seeing how long I can stay alive.

'The whole thing is absolutely terrifying. To try and remain positive I am hoping a new type of treatment will suppress and control the cancer, which is very aggressive. I am in a nightmare.'

Jade was told the sombre news yesterday as medics gathered around her hospital bed.

Her boyfriend Jack Tweed, 21, was said to be 'numb over the news and her mother Jackiey 'in pieces at her bedside' last night.

She has already begun to prepare a will and told close family to expect the worst.

Her medical team are now working out a plan to attack the new tumours and still have an effect on the primary cancer in the cervix.

 

Jade was hospitalised over the weekend after doubling up in excruciating pain.

A family friend said at the time: 'We fear the situation may have gone from bad to worse.

'Jade has been told to face the fact that the tests might show she will not get through this.'

Jade collapsed at home on Friday after falling ill following her latest bout of chemotherapy in her ongoing cervical cancer battle.

After admitting herself to the Marsden in Fulham, south-west London on Friday, she discharged herself on Saturday to spend time with sons Bobby, five and Freddie, four, but was forced to return after becoming violently ill at home.

Her latest health troubles mean Jade has postponed a party to celebrate her boyfriend Jack Tweed's early release from prison last week.

 

The family friend added: 'Jade has gone through an awful few days and has been very ill.

 

'She collapsed at the end of the week and had to go back into hospital.

'She is a fighter, but the treatment has just taken everything out of her and she has been in excruciating pain.'

Despite the release of boyfriend Jack on Wednesday, Jade's spirits were dampened after she learned of the sudden death of her surrogate father and business associate Robert Coleman.

The 62-year-old was found slumped over his computer at his home in Tenerife and was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

His death comes just weeks after Jade and her two sons - Bobby, five, and Freddie, four - stayed with Coleman at his villa in the Canaries.

Jade was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August and discovered she had the disease while appearing on the Indian Big Brother, entitled Bigg Boss.

She has already had surgery to remove a large tumour, along with her womb and ovaries.

Brave Jade has been spotted both with and without a headscarf since losing her hair as a side effect of her treatment last month.

i dont like jade goody... she stands for everything bad about 'celeb' culture

 

however i do find it rather sad that someone so young could be facing premature death.

that is such a shame - i know she is the biggest pain in the ass on this planet but nobody deserves this kind of illness

I detest the woman and everything she stands for but there are thousands if not millions of people with cancer in this country and she doesn't deserve any more sympathy than anyone else that has cancer but I can't help but think that she is "milking" the whole situation for money, if she was say acting as a figurehead for cancer research or using her fame to raise cancer awareness and encourage screening of young women in particular I would have more sympathy but all this "look at me i'm Jade Goody poor me" while at the same time getting 6 figure cheques from newspaper editors is a bit much, you are not the only one with cancer in this country Jade

^^Pretty much agreed with everyone else. I cant stand her at all but it's very unfortunate that she's going through all this.

I just read this on MSN and I felt so bad for her. It's now a case of seeing how long they can keep her alive as opposed to save her life. So saddening to think she's lived so much of her life in the public eye and now she's going to die in the public eye too. And she has two young kids who probably have no idea what's going on. I don't like her but that's not really the point when it comes to cancer...

Awful thing to have to face at such a young age. It's so frightening and it has really opened my eyes to the fact that the C word can happen to ANYONE. Who would have thought this is how that dumb blonde bint from Big Brother's life would turn out. I'm so sad for her.

I never thought I'd see the day when I felt sorry for Jade Goody but it shows anything can happen! I especially feel sorry for her because of how young her kids are. :cry:

Yeah, she may be incredibly annoying and useless but she doesn't deserve that. I feel sorry for the kids mostly though, poor them!

I have a lot more respect for the likes of Patrick Swayze and Wendy Richard who are going about their struggle with cancer in private and with dignity Jade seems to be using her cancer as a marketing tool

So, now all of a sudden it's "Saint Jade" just because she might be dying of horrible illness.... And, god forbid that anyone actually criticise her for being so tacky and publicity hungry as to play it all out in the public like an attention junkie.... Famous people have had this illness before mate, some have done a very good job in actually raising awareness of things such as breast cancer and the like, but very, VERY few have stooped so low as to sell their "exclusives" around to about a half a dozen or so different tabloid newspapers and "celeb" rags..... I'm sorry, but I just cannot condone someone making personal gain out of a terminal illness which kills thousands of young women every year.... It's just so low and plain undignified.....

 

I dont wish her dead, but I do wish she'd just p"ss off and stop whoring herself around the media, raising awareness is one thing, what Jade is doing is quite different.....

 

Wendy Richard and Patrick Swayze are rich, older folk who don't have the responsibilty of two kids who are pretty much still babies. She has said quite openly before she is doing the interviews to make money for her kids future. She makes NO bones about it. I like and respect Jade and I think this is an absolutely horrible time for her, you're right of course that she is one of many going through this, and her celebrity status earns her no extra sympathy from me, anyone going through this has my deepest already.

Hang on a moment, at the end of the day it is a terminal illness, you say it like she's exploting it and is taking advtange of it as if she's going to be fine at the other end of her interviews. She's not, she's likely going to die, she's making her children some money WHILE SHE STILL CAN.
