February 14, 200916 yr But if/when she does pass on I will not partake in the Princess Diana style national mourning that will take place for her driven by the tabloids I have never met her, she is not a friend or a relative or anyone that has made any impact on my life so while I wish her well I will not shed any crocodile tears the day she passes away
February 14, 200916 yr I have already said in this thread that I hope she pulls through and makes a full recovery regardless of my dislike of the woman The way you said ^ was just a bit well, clinical I guess. Sadly, seems she won't pull through :(
February 14, 200916 yr The way you said ^ was just a bit well, clinical I guess. Sadly, seems she won't pull through :( Am just not a sentimental person I guess  There is so much bad $h!t going on in the world etc that I find the best way is to try and be emotionally detached from it all
February 14, 200916 yr The news on Jade is nothing short of heart breaking and my heart goes out to her and her family, love her or hate her this news is awful i know many others who are not in the public eye have gone through this but with jade in the ublic eye it hits the masses, the only good thing that can now come out of this awful news is that the awareness raised from jade will prevent many others from going through this....i hope what remaining time she has is good for her but i guess with the news she has recieved it takes some strength to get through it.
February 15, 200916 yr Your symapthy underwhelms me. Regardless of her media 'career', the woman is dying and two young children will be without their mother. Some respect for what she is going through (and others in the same situation) is warranted I think. spot on matt :)
February 15, 200916 yr Goody: 'I might die in front of the cameras' Sunday, February 15 2009, 10:01 GMT Digitalspy.com By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter Jade Goody has refused to rule out allowing her death to be filmed for her reality TV show. The former Big Brother contestant has been told that her cancer is terminal and she could have just eight weeks left to live. A newspaper report last weekend claimed that the star "may die on reality television" after she indicated that she was likely to renew her deal with Living TV. Speaking to the News Of The World, Goody confirmed: "I've lived my whole adult life talking about my life. The only difference is that I'm talking about my death now. It's OK. "I've lived in front of the cameras. And maybe I'll die in front of them. And I know some people don't like what I'm doing but at this point I really don't care what other people think. Now, it's about what I want." The 27-year-old added that she has continued to appear in the press throughout her illness because she wants to secure the future of her two sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four. "When I first knew I had cancer I worked out a strategy," she explained. "I thought if I earn enough money while I'm sick there will be enough for them to go to private school until they are 18. "I know people think I'm betraying my roots by sending them to a private school but I want them to have the very best chance in life they can have. And that's what my money is for. What's the point of everything I have if I can't do that for them?" Goody was diagnosed with cervical cancer as she appeared on the Indian version of Big Brother in August last year. She recently announced that the illness had spread to her liver, bowel and groin.
February 15, 200916 yr i just read this on digitalspy. i find it really hard to find sympathy for her when she's doing & saying things like this. i understand the fact that she wants to make as much money as she can so that her children can live a financially comfortable life, but she's going about it the wrong way and what she's just said proves that. there are a thousand other ways she could help her children without having a camera crew following her around 24/7. and the 'people' that are willing to film (and knowing the kind of 'people' there are in the media industry, i'm willing to bet there's a hell of a lot) a young person dying on camera for the sake of a few more ratings are just as bad. how on earth did we get to this point? just awful. i do wish her all the best, though.

Well, I hate to say to everyone "I told you so"...... -_- Absolutely SICKENING..... What next....? Endemol goes over to the US to film live executions in State Prisons for our "entertainment"....????? <_< Just what the fukk does this actually do to promote the awereness of cancer....? It's titilation, it's voyeurism of the absolutely WORST and BASEST kind...... I'm frankly disgusted that anyone even put the idea into her head......

February 15, 200916 yr That's completely undignified if she actually does let people film her death, totally immoral.
February 15, 200916 yr Regardless of her media 'career', the woman is dying and two young children will be without their mother. Some respect for what she is going through (and others in the same situation) is warranted I think. Mate, sympathy and respect is one thing, but now we're talking about some hideous "Reality TV death show", I mean, COME ON..... We're crossing the line totally here to even suggest this... This is utterly unethical, totally amoral and completely exploitative.....
February 15, 200916 yr Good God. She really is vile... :| But who's putting the suggestion to her though, that's the question...? I seriously doubt she came up with this idea all by herself, she's just not bright enough.... This is fukkin' Endemol man, or some other bunch of lousy Media scum coming up with this idea.... I think they're even as low as to use her kids as leverage to convince her (I put NOTHING past these people because I know exactly what they're like, I mean, remember the disgraceful reporting on Hillsborough???? I put NOTHING past the Media <_< ), they're egging her on to do this man, saying $h!t like "think about your kids Jade, you dont want them to want for anything do you...? Go on, sign here, on the dotted line, just below the name 'Dr Faustus'"... These people are pretty much Satan in human form.... I think I have to repeat the words of Marilyn Manson from his song "Lamb of God" If you die when there's no one watching and your ratings drop and you're forgotten if they kill you on their TV you're a martyr and a lamb of god I dont think that any more appropriate words can be spoken of in regards to the disgusting, worthless spectacle that is so-called "Reality TV"......
February 15, 200916 yr Until now I didn't really see much wrong in what she was doing, the media were prying and wanting to know what was happening and she was just telling them, but she's really crossed the line by saying this, I just hope she doesn't actually go through with that idea.
February 15, 200916 yr Mate, sympathy and respect is one thing, but now we're talking about some hideous "Reality TV death show", I mean, COME ON..... We're crossing the line totally here to even suggest this... This is utterly unethical, totally amoral and completely exploitative..... I totally agree with you. Now compare to someone who was the living definition of a "Great Briton": David Beckham is great, but Bobby Moore was one of a kind Daily Mirror.co.uk By Tony Parsons 14/02/2009 All credit to David Beckham for equalling Bobby Moore’s record of 108 England caps. But no modern footballer will ever climb the mountains that Bobby Moore climbed. In November 1964, Bobby Moore discovered he had testicular cancer. He was 23. He had a testicle removed, but fought and beat cancer. And he did it in private, in an age when you simply did not discuss these things publicly. Cancer kept Moore out of football for just three months. Less than two years later he lifted the World Cup. Bobby Moore was one of a kind. And 1966 is the very least of it. In April 1991, Moore underwent an emergency operation for suspected colon cancer, though at the time it was just reported that he had undergone an "emergency stomach operation". But those closest to him knew otherwise how serious it was, he maintained a dignified silence and carried on working. On February 14, 1993, he publicly announced he was suffering from bowel cancer. Three days later, he commentated on an England match against San Marino at Wembley, alongside his friend Jonathan Pearce. That was to be his final public appearance; seven days later on 24th February, at 6.36am, he died at the age of 51. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've said it before, and I'll say it again Princess Diana has a hell of a lot to do with the decline of British public decency, because she made it acceptable to play out your life in front of the media via ringing up Newspaper editors to engineer photo exclusives & and wash her dirty linen in public. In my view the people who praise Jade Goody for revealing everything and knock the Bobby Moore's of the world for keeping their personal troubles private are sick individuals. People (especially young people) need to wake up and realise that the tabloid press are by and large scum.

We're crossing the line totally here to even suggest this... This is utterly unethical, totally amoral and completely exploitative..... yeah, i agree. and i fear that if this goes ahead, we'll be getting MORE of this type of stuff.

People (especially young people) need to wake up and realise that the tabloid press are by and large scum. Yep, pretty much on the money there.... The "Princess Di" syndrome is probably one of the worst things that happened really... I dont really mind the Royals being embarrassed tbh, but in hindsight, she took it a bit too far, and all the bloody "boo-hoo-hooing" about her accidental death was just plain undignified.... I do believe, however, that there is something to be gained for raising awareness, there was the case of American baseball star Lou Garrig (dunno if I spelled his name correctly...) being struck down by a mysterious illness, which became known as "Lou Garrig's Disease"... Also there was Micheal J Fox, who suffers from Parkinsons who courageously went to a Senate Committe hearing to plead the case of Stem Cell research, good on him I say, and he certainly never sought any financial rewards for doing so... Closer to home, the ex-Blue Peter presenter Caron Keating, an intelligent, lovely young woman struck down with breast cancer and died age only 41.... What do these three have in common...? Simply that they, like Bobby Moore, had a damn sight more dignity in the face of horrifying, terminal illness.....
February 15, 200916 yr I realise that people die young of cancer every day, but it really is surprisingly shocking to hear that somebody in the public eye who isn't even thirty has weeks to live. I don't know, it puts everything into perspective. Scary actually.

I don't know, it puts everything into perspective. Scary actually. Yes, you are essentially correct, it is indeed very scary.... But surely just as scary is the prospect of her actual death being televised, LIVE..... What a quite horrifying precedent this would set.... We would essentially be saying that nothing is private, and that everything is out there to be exploited by the media for its own ends.... Yeah, scary, we've created a monster, time for us to kill it before it kills us..... This simply would not be allowed in any other EU country, France, for example has privacy laws which would absolutely prevent such a thing from ever happening..... We could learn a lot from the French....
February 15, 200916 yr I have a great deal of sympathy for her as does everyone else but i agree with Grimly a TIP here, she'd have a great deal more of respect if she did all this in private.
February 15, 200916 yr More respect, perhaps, but the basic details being out there in the media can only encourage women of a similar age to check for cancer. If even one woman (or man!) was to check for cancer and they found it in time when otherwise they wouldn't have, won't Jade's public battle have been worth it?
