Posted February 9, 200916 yr Can't say I'm too suprised. He was never that big with the fans and the poor run of results just weren't good enough...
February 9, 200916 yr I liked the guy tbh. He came across well in his interviews. And like I said in the other topic what else can he do with a squad that's namely past their past and/or unhapy? Fact is whoever takes the job is always going to live in Mourinho's shadow, and will be judged on his success.
February 9, 200916 yr Mourinho will come back I think unless he is desperate for the City job I thought the whole reason he left was because he fell out with Abramovic?
February 9, 200916 yr I thought the whole reason he left was because he fell out with Abramovic? He did but now Mourinho knows that Abramovich needs him more than he needs Abramovich so he would be able to pretty much dictate the terms if he came back Roman would be his bitch
February 9, 200916 yr Who cares to be honest?? Chelsea (and Man City for that matter), represent everything there is to despise about football, in terms of the money being pumped in which is not being generated naturally by the club. All that money and there are clubs who are on the verge of ruin in the Football League, for whom the debts they have are probably a week's wages for some of the overpaid prima donnas of the Premier League. Clubs who stick by their manager longer than 5 minutes would have a better chance of stability, as has been proved down the years. I thought Avram Grant did a half decent job there last season, but was sacked as he wasn't a big name. Like Tony Adams earlier on, you have to question the timing of these sackings, as any new manager(s) won't be able to change the squads now the window has shut!!
February 9, 200916 yr Mourinho will NEVER go back to Chelsea after what happened.... word on the street is grant is going back with hiddink :/
February 9, 200916 yr Mourinho won't go back. I feel sorry for Scolari tbh (well as sorry as I can for a rival manager). He was left with a broken squad to start with. Drogba was clearly unhappy with being at the club, they'd bought the biggest sulker of recent times (Anelka) and sold a key player in Makalele. John Obi who? To top all that off the board decided they no longer wanted to spend money, did they even purchase anyone in the January transfer window? They loaned in Quaresma but I don't recall anyone actually signing on the dotted line for them. Good news for Villa's hopes of a top 3 (or higher) finish though seeing as they meet each other a week on saturday after the international break.

Mikel is $h!t (Fergie must be p***ing himself). Drogba obviously wants to leave. They're weak without Carhalvo, Lampard seems to have lost all confidence, Ballack is past it, Boswinga leaves the back too open, Cech is nowhere near as good as he used to be. And Quaresma is fucking shit. There's a good reason why Jose let him go. Wheat they lack is younger footballer players. Not kids like Di Santo etc. Man Utd and Liverpool both have them in Rooney, Torres, Vidic, Agger, Alonso, Tevez etc. - and they also mix them with younger players and older ones. But Chelsea's team is mainly full of 29/30/31 year olds, and all the younger players they've got like Mikel and Kalou just aren't consistent enough. Saying that it seems to me like they miss Essien, BADLY.
February 9, 200916 yr Chelsea fans need to get over the fact that there has to be life after Mourinho as he will NOT come back! The only bad thing I can really point to about Scolari is that he was like Steve McClaren with England i.e. he didn't really have a back-up plan as far as tactics were concerned and he was figured out quite quickly. Otherwise what did they expect? They couldn't afford to give him any funds in the transfer window as they want to run the club like a business but suddenly they have enough money to sack him? It's the same with Rafa at Liverpool really if they sacked him who could they get who's any better at the moment? With your only two recognised strikers sulking right now and the club destabilized due to the sacking maybe Arsenal can hopefully get into the Champions League afterall. Right now if I'm scared of anyone with regards to title rivals it'd be Villa especially as Liverpool were awful the other night despite managing to get a win!
February 10, 200916 yr If Abramovich despatched Avram Grant after taking the Premiership to the last day and losing the Champions League final on penalties, he was never going to accept their current form 4th behind Aston Villa. Russia have given Chelsea permission to speak to Gus Huddink... February 10, 200916 yr If Abramovich despatched Avram Grant after taking the Premiership to the last day and losing the Champions League final on penalties, he was never going to accept their current form 4th behind Aston Villa. Russia have given Chelsea permission to speak to Gus Huddink... Gus Hissink would be a good choice, but the job at Chelsea is not some short term thing. The manager needs to be given time to put together a new squad and not be expected to work miracles and win the league with what they have at the moment...
February 10, 200916 yr Mourinho will come back I think unless he is desperate for the City job ahahah why would he be desperate to manage city? his next premiership destination is old trafford
February 10, 200916 yr Avram Grant should have stayed all along. Guess it goes to show England had a lucky escape from Scolari :heehee:

February 11, 200916 yr Hiddink 'to become Chelsea boss' Russia coach Guus Hiddink has told Dutch radio he expects to become the new manager of Chelsea next week. Hiddink is set to take charge for the rest of the season after the Russian Football Association said they would allow the 62-year-old to do both jobs. The Dutchman, who is friends with the Blues' Russian owner Roman Abramovich, did not rule out a permanent move. "One of these days I will go to London. I expect to be there on the field next week," Hiddink told Radio 538. Hiddink said he planned to attend Chelsea's FA Cup fifth-round tie at Watford on Saturday and, if a deal can be secured in time, his first Premier League game could be at Aston Villa on 21 February. "It's never enough time to prepare a team in one week but this is an exceptional situation," he added. "Chelsea have good players and they should be in top form and that should make my job easier." Abramovich made the move for Hiddink following the club's decision to sack Luiz Felipe Scolari on Monday. Hiddink, who is contracted with Russia until the end of the 2010 World Cup, added: "It's a favour for a friend. Abramovich does so much for Russian football that I wanted to do something back. He called me personally. "I can do it because Russia are only playing two matches in April and one in June, but the English league is finished then." Earlier in the week Hiddink emphasised his commitment to the Russian team by saying it was a "long-term project" and would not like to leave it "unfinished". However, when asked about the possibility of continuing beyond this season at Stamford Bridge, Hiddink said: "There are two scenarios: it goes bad and they say 'go back east' or it goes well, but I'm not thinking that far ahead." Russia have two World Cup qualifiers over the course of the rest of the Premier League season - at home to minnows Azerbaijan on 28 March and away to Liechtenstein four days later. With Chelsea in fourth place in the Premier League and struggling for form, Hiddink revealed he planned to contact his Chelsea predecessor Scolari within the next two days to discuss team matters. With a contract still to be completed with his new employers, he added: "I don't have to sign one. It's not a question of money." Hiddink said he would not be bringing in new assistants "at this time" and regarding playing personnel, he added: "I always want to see the situation in the team myself first before making any changes if they have to be made." The Dutchman has the extensive club and international experience Abramovich has been searching for, having coached PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid as well as the Netherlands, South Korea and Australia. Billionaire Abramovich, who agreed a compensation package with Scolari and his backroom staff on Tuesday evening, was instrumental in Hiddink's appointment as Russia manager in 2006, and the pair have since maintained close ties. According to BBC Sport..
February 11, 200916 yr ahahah why would he be desperate to manage city? his next premiership destination is old trafford I sincerly hope NOT! He wouldn't suit us at all! We're known for playing exciting football! O'Neil should be our next manager, if not then it should be Moyes (as he's the best Scottish manger!)
