February 15, 200916 yr That is bloody brilliant! Is it really the new opening or just a one off (I mean the bits before the sofa moment).
February 15, 200916 yr In fairness it's only too long because the couch gag is long..... I love it! Fabulous
February 15, 200916 yr thought it was great, but i take it that the bit with the sofa is a one off or is the whole thing a one off nice seeing more characters make it in though
February 16, 200916 yr Tbh, I'm not surprised it was changed before - how many other shows have kept the same title sequence (before the couch gag, obv) for 20 years?
February 16, 200916 yr They need the old credits to show people how they used to look like when they were a different yellow and all backgrounds were either purple or green. Saying this though they've not changed anything major so no complaints wont be made. They're still pretty clever after 20 years
February 16, 200916 yr Spirals Pointless Trivia For The Credits  1) The camera shot zooms into the power plant and tyre wards, which was the same as the old credits but this time are extremely close up 2) Jimbo & Kearny are seen decapitating Jebodiah Springfield's head (previously seen in a episode where Bart did it back in season 1) 3) The head lands on Ralph (none of these scenes are in the previous credits) 4) Before going to the school you can see "Lard Lad Donuts" and a sign saying 'Krusty, Now Doing Funerals" 5) Bart Simpson is seen doing the famous chalk board writing saying "HDTV Is Worth Every Cent" (Used because it's the first Simpson episode to bee seen in HDTV). 6) By the chalkboard there is a picture of Homer Simpson when he went into space & the clock says 3 o clock 7) Bart instead of just landing on the ground, lands on Barney Gumble who is covered in leaves raked by Groundskeeper Willie 8) It then shows the scene where Homer leaves with the utonium rod sticking to his outfit. Instead of Mr Burns checking his watch with Mr Smithers, it now shows Lenny & Carl putting up the number 3 to say "3 Days Without An Accident" but falls after the horn goes 9) Patty & Selma are now seen unpacking the trolley whilst Marge is still seen reading a magazine 10) On the belt it shows 'Tommaco Juice", "Mr Sparkle Detergent" (both featured in classic episodes of The Simpsons). The only one that stays the same is Krusty O's 11) The price is now 486.52 when Maggie gets scanned 12) Maggie is then put in the bag and is then seen giving the evil eye to the baby with one eye brow (another reference to a Simpson episode) 13) It's then going to Lisa's scene and in the pan shot it shows the well known characters Martin Price, Janney, Milhouse & Terri & Sherri (who are the only two who aren't playing an instrument) 14) The rest of Lisa's scene stays the same apart from she then re-enters to play the last note on her Saxophone 15) Homer is then seen throwing the rod out of the car but instead of it disappearing Otto the bus driver eats it on a park bench 16) Bart's skateboarding scene is now changed with him going past Sideshow Bob (who is trying to kill him), Reverend Lovejoy who is carrying bags saying "Springfield Mall", then goes past Apu and his octuplets, then going past Moe at Moe's bar and then goes past the comic book guy carrying a Krusty Burger bag. Then shows Disco Stu and then the crazy cat lady and crazy Texan who are in front of TV's showing Krusty The Clowns head. Finally finishing on Chief Wiggum telling bart of 17) Mole man is seen coming out of the sewer but goes pushed down by Marge's car 18) Grandpa is now in the car, and when Marge & Maggie blow the horns Abe's teeth fall out 19) Then there is a long pan shot showing the rest of the Simpson characters (with God & The Devil as well) 20) Homer then gets hit by the car that Marge is driving, instead of him running away from the car. He leaves an cut out on the garage door 21) COUCH GAG 22) The TV is now longer and falls out of the wall THAT'S ALL! THANK YOU Edited February 16, 200916 yr by Spiral
February 16, 200916 yr Like Friends The Simpsons is so 1990s IMHO. I'm looking forward to seeing this animation season hit our UK TV screens with this intro: uSo_sjsjAx0
February 17, 200916 yr The Simpsons are still relevant, the success of the movie proved that. Even though things like Family Guy are funnier, a Family Guy Movie would never be a great success.
February 17, 200916 yr Now this is proof why The Simpsons is dated compared to Family Guy: VSr1d-1R534 'You're amateur, Peter' Family Guy spoofs Christian Bale ssoZzNmD0I8 Christian Bale Flips Out on Terminator: Salvation Set audio How much time does it take The Simpsons to produce one episode in comparison? As the old saying goes "You snooze .... you lose".
February 17, 200916 yr I hate when people say that The Simpsons say are dated, but they are unaware that this means will be classics in the future. The only way to kill the Simpsons is to kill Matt (Can't spell his name) and their many fans since the 1980s. The Simpsons is writen with heart meaning it's not suppose to be as funny as 'Family Guy' because they are pun after pun, The Simpsons stick with one or 2 puns and add a little family value to it. People who compare The Simpsons to Family Guy are making it really unfair because apart from being cartoons shown later than others they are completely different
March 28, 200916 yr Thanks keri - that has SOOOOOOO made my day! I caught a glimpse of part of it the other day but thought I was seeing things! Great to see it all - love the car drive-in!
