February 20, 200916 yr yeah, i just realised. my mistake. i think Ms Thang and Diva K will take it like water off a duck's back, shrug their shoulders and say "who cares?" - ESPECIALLY ameril or whatever she's called. i like her. she seems intimidating and has this 'don't give a f*ck' type of attitude. and i'm SURE she'd be quick to pull out her earrings and beat your ass with her shoe if you say the wrong thing to her. but if you're nice, she's cool. GET IT. well she supposedly was involved in a pub brawl a wee while back. hell why i am sayin supposedly. She got nicked for it, she didn't start it, but fought back. AKA won.
February 20, 200916 yr rotfl. i'm not surprised at all. it was only a matter of time before she beat SOMEONE'S ass.
February 20, 200916 yr But unlike GA the babes fan base isn't full of loons who mass vote for everything. I dont think thats fair, i think the babes just dont have as big a fanbase. All fanbases have "loons" to a certain extent. Oh and also, i dont think amelle joining really ruined the sugababes, but i think mutya leaving did. Edited February 20, 200916 yr by andyboiuk
February 20, 200916 yr "to the dude above - i don't think Ms Thang is to blame at all. they have still enjoyed success since she joined the group all those years ago. i think this era bombed because of its lead single (good song, just not single material), artwork is trash, album title is stupid and as i understand, this album was took in a different direction than their previous ones. they need to find their niche and stick to it." Loving this quote OffDaEndz (sic). You have very succinct and distinctive prose, it kinda cuts through the crap you know? (PS i agree, the whole project smacked to me of low budget which i don't get with the success of Change before it; and don't worry there's no danger of you finding C&S "over-produced" IMHO) C&S is often decribed as One Touch-like, i'd say there's similarities but its certainly not the same. Its pretty cheap all over now though, i'd say its worth it if you have the money, good album but not commercial enough. Qualitatively i'd need to say GA fans are more diehard and would vote in their droves for something like this, but the promise is also one of their best selling songs so not surprising people would therefore vote for it. Popularity is fleeting and difficult to measure. At this moment? More popular than the babes for sure, if you go by sales, airplay or the media but that's sort of a self fulfilling prophecy. But if you asked everyone is the UK if they liked Sugababes, and if they liked GA for example, you might find overall more people liked the babes but didn't connect to their recent material. Its all a moot point really, its so perception based, and fan perception is inherently warped
February 20, 200916 yr I'm not being funny, but I dont think the girls deserved to be nominated because all the songs mentioned have all failed. I mean "Catlights and Spotlights" flopped and "No Can Do" with it's S and M video just made the top 30. Some of the recent songs have not been as strong as "About You Now" and awarding them a Brit Award for their poor efforts is just laughable. I blame Amelle for their demise. Bite you tongue! Amelle is fabulous
February 21, 200916 yr i admit the babes aint had a good year but the song girls did realy well it should have been nominated.but the brits are totally crap now.

February 24, 200916 yr Wasn't there some kind of poll at the beginning of the year, can't remember where the poll was from but it was favourite girlbands of all time and Girls Aloud were #1, Spice Girls #2 and i think Sugababes were #5, can't remember where exactly Not giving me much to go on here  Again, it depends how and when survey was conducted, was it a certain age group or magazine/website only etc. If it was girlsaloud.com for example that result would be open to bias  Also, if it was beginning of this year that wouldn't surprise me as i already mentioned GA are getting the star treatment far more at the mo than the babes
