Commentary

Finally! After three weeks of hanging around at number 2 VV Brown has finally grabbed the number 1 position with Leave! For a while there it looked like she might do a Sandi Thom and stick it at #2 for a month and never gain her rightful chart topping position. A new #1 of course means it's the end of Kelly Clarkson's run at the top, she did well to get three weeks considering the amazing competition at the moment. Kelly's album All I Ever Wanted leaked this week aswell and should top my album chart next week. Sticking at number three this week is Amy Studt with Nice Boys whilst the Comic Relief single Just Cant Get Enough by The Saturdays also stays put at #4. Both are definite contenders for #1 in the next 2/3 weeks I’d say, The Saturdays especially during Comic Relief week. This therefore gives up a pretty solid top 4 which us unlikely to change for a few weeks yet I should imagine. Jumping up one position to fill up the top 5 this week are The Veronicas with Untouched, this is released a fair three odd weeks after the last of the current top 4, so a #1 is a good possibility for them aswell.

At #6 Katy Perry reaches new heights with Thinking Of You, who has now beated the peak of #7 of I Kissed A Girl but is unlikely to reach the #1 position as Hot N Cold did. Beyonce this week climbs back into the top 10 with Halo, after reaching #9 earlier in the year before dropping out again. Again, this is another contender for the top. Agnes drops to #8 this week and will be lucky to stay another week in the top 10 and Shontelle also appears to have peaked with T-Shirt as she drops to #9 this week from last weeks #8. Completing the top 10 is Darin and Kat DeLuna with Breathing Your Love, this is a song which im getting into very late im afraid, so im just charting it as high as i can.

Outside the top 10 is Pink with Please Don’t Leave Me who climbs to #11, it doesn’t get it's main release until April though so has plenty of time to reach the top 10. Jennifer Hudson glides up to #13 this week setting herself a new peak after bopping between 17-20 region for the past month or so. September stays put at #16 this week whilst Kat DeLuna finally reaches the top 20 with Unstoppable. Take That are another one who don’t move this week as Up All Night sticks at #20. Completing this week's top 20 is Tinchy Stryder, Pink, Girls Aloud, Jessica Mauboy and The Saturdays. Outside the top 20 there are large climbs for both EliZe and La Roux whilst Leona and Elin Lanto continue sliding. New entries come from Foxy, Gary Go, Lemar and most importantly Enrique and Ciara, which is defiantly a song to watch out for in the coming weeks. Album wise there is no movement in the top 3 but Kelly Clarkson should put a stop to this next week.
