Excellent show this year. Completely agree with Consie the best in years and having the past winners award the oscars was a good idea ^_^

 

Finally for Kate ^_^ Well over due and she has been snubbed for better performances but still 'The Reader' was good. Pleased about Sean Penn too.

 

A bit :mellow: about Penelope though :( Vicky Christina Barcelona completely relies on her performance which is very good but the film was a bit fluff tbh. She has done better performances namely 'Volver' <3 I was hoping Amy Adams would get it. I was VERY surprised by her in Doubt.

I agree that the show seemed rather good. I can't normally sit through an awards show but I didn't have a problem with this one!

 

Very happy for Kate Winslet winning Best Actress. She definitely deserved it. I would've liked to see Cate Blanchett win Best Supporting Actress as she was soo good in Ben Button. :( I can't say much though since I haven't seen Penelope Cruz's performance for which she won the award.

 

I don't know if Slumdog deserved all of those awards imo. It was a great movie but still just not really sure on that!

 

Oh, and apparently Beyonce mimed her performance? :lol:

Yeah I agree, I think Slumdog Millionaire is a bit overrated. Definitely a good movie, but not really an 8 oscar winner.

Yeah Beyonce definitely mimed her performance.

 

Slumdog Millionaire is a bit overrated I agree, but it just works so well. Bar an Indian audience and Skins fans the whole cast is pretty much unknown, and the film just works so well, and in its advantage it was a LOT different to all the other films nominated.

I agree. I think the fact that the movie was really different and had a great story you could get into, made it such a good movie. Personally I would've liked to see Benjamin Button win a few more awards!

Finally Kate gets it :cheer: Yet to watch Slumdog Millionaire. I'm sure it's an excellent movie!

Wow, just watched The Reader and Revolutionary Road last night and it reaffirmed my belief that she deserved the award!

 

Too bad both movies end tragically.
