March 18, 200916 yr I can't believe people HOENSTLY believe this is going Top 10?! It's a sure-fire miss imo, and I love the song.
March 18, 200916 yr oh Aaron, you had to say that didn't you. NEWS UPDATE: 19th July 2009 Untouchable by Girls Aloud has now become their best selling single after 12 weeks at #1 and with Miss You Bow Wow being released tomorrow could Girls Aloud hold the Top 2 spots as this week Miss You Bow Wow has climbed from 5 to 3 and is looking set to topple Untouchable off the Top. But with The Saturdays at #2 for the 6th week in a row with Work there could be a spanner in the works. Joke by the way, but wouldn't it be weird and funny if that did happen.
March 18, 200916 yr Yeah, ok then, it's gonna be #1 for 12 weeks. This is Girls Aloud, none of the usual rules apply. :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer: WELL. I don't think it will be that successful but it quite obviouslly has a good chance of top 5 charting success AND if one more person says its not going to go top 10 could you PLEASE comprehend what seems to be minimal mentality with a sufficient reason to why it won't be successful? Because noone is yet to even come up with understandable or intelligent idea to why it wont go top 10, imaturity yes?
March 18, 200916 yr It won't go Top 10 because whilst it'll get good airplay and videoplay, album sales have been high, the second single just scraped Top 10 and it's hardly memorable either to be honest (I love it, it just takes too much time to grow). I just really can't see it going Top 10, it'll have a decent chart run but I'm pretty sure it'll peak the higher end of Top 20.
March 18, 200916 yr How this for a reason, The Loving Kind barely made Top 10 and tanked down the chart the week after, and that TOO was fan-favourite, with a new (better) radio edit which about 10 people purchased. The video/song was a huge video/airplay success and barely made any impact on the chart. The album has sold roughly 600k by now so any GA fans will already have this song, and I have yet to see a non-GA fan say they like this. The song was promoted on Dancing On Ice and barely made top 100 on itunes (wheras a song performed on Ant & Dec, which gets far less viewers got to 70+). There's jsut enough "proof" of this missing Top 10 as there is it HITTING top 10 Kath.

I'm one of the more optimistic ones too, I think people will want the radio edit it as it's totally different to the version that everyone has on the album. I don't think Girls Aloud have ever charted higher with a third single, the album is one of their highest selling so far etc. The only reason groups like the Saturdays had their (then) highest peaking single with "Issues" is because the album hadn't sold much, which means less people had it.
March 18, 200916 yr I like the song but its really quite boring. Its one of those songs that I'll listen to if it comes on, but I wouldnt look for it myself. I actually think they should have gone for something more upbeat after TLK, so im going to say top 20, though also I dont rule out top 10.

Sorry to disappoint you but the physical release is in more than months time and the video is yet to come out, so how could you make an accurate prediction without that coming into play. Also TLK's promo was COMPLETELY messed up and they're both completely different songs from each other, just because TLK only just made top 10 now Untouchable won't make it all? Wtf? It's been done so many times before! You people are so stubborn and close-minded, I MEAN REALLY - will every 3rd single peak in the top 20 because the 2nd single peaked in the top 10. Sorry but no thats just insane. Wait until the real promo is done before typing in capital letters that a hit-worthy song by the most successful girl group won't make top 10 when there's still over a month to go ..

You're wrong again, sorry dearie. 'Jump - 4th single (#2)' outpeaked 'Life Got Cold - 3rd single (#3)'. 'I'll Stand By You (#1) - 3rd single outpeaked both The Show and Love Machine, 1st and 2nd singles. Chemistry era, Biology 2nd single and Whole Lotta History 4th single outpeaked Long Hot Summer 1st single. And then CTS 2nd single outpeaked SNNN. So single peaks where aren't always predictable at all when it comes to GA, and the 1st single definitely doesnt always peak the highest or the last single the lowest .. Edited March 18, 200916 yr by Kath Aloud
March 18, 200916 yr The thing with GA is that their songs chart all over the place which is unlike most artists. TLK was a different story because the last bit of promo they did was like a month before the release and live performances sell better than radio or tv airplay.
March 18, 200916 yr I'm sorry but you ASKED for people to back up their reasoning behind predicting this will miss top 10. Then when I tell you why I think this will miss you start ranting on about something else. I feel this will miss Top 10. That's my opinion, why does it matter so much to you if soemone thinks it will miss?
March 18, 200916 yr This getting Top 10 or not really doesn't bother me, it would be the cherry on top, but this is my favourite song they have released on the album and I really didn't think it had a chance in hell in getting public recognition when many of the album highlights from the girls didn't get a single release. So I'm thrilled that I have a single mix and a video that I will be able to dote over, regardless of a number.
March 18, 200916 yr I'd HATE to STIR anything UP but Sugababes are Britain's most-successful active girl group. They have sold more records, marginally. :D

So single peaks where aren't always predictable at all when it comes to GA, and the 1st single definitely doesnt always peak the highest or the last single the lowest .. Ok 'dearie', how about they do this in the proper download era. CTS and SNNN doesn't count because SNNN came out before the album and the CTS download was released the same week as the album. If anything this DOI performance has harmed its eventual peak by selling quite a few copies way too early. (since it's beginning to fall already) I know DOI would be over by the time the single is ready to be released, making it a lost opportunity for them, but the performance hasn't had the desired effect yet so it turns out it's a bad thing for the peak.
March 18, 200916 yr I'd HATE to STIR anything UP but Sugababes are Britain's most-successful active girl group. They have sold more records, marginally. No, not according to Guinness. Record sales arent the only thing to make a band successful as we've had told many times before, think a 30-odd date arena tour and a 700k+ album in the past year and everyone would say that trumps Sugababes active 'success'.
March 18, 200916 yr i know what you said is true Jark but now you've involved Sugababes in the argument where the best group ever is not needed.

Exactly, Ta coolnav. Even if you work it out like this UK Singles Point Scores Chart position points - #1=10, #2=9, #3=8, #4=7, #5=6, #6=5, #7=4, #8=3, #9=2, #10=1 Girls Aloud – Chart 1, 2, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 4, 7, 4, 9, 6, 3, 4, 1, 5, 3, 9, 1, 10 Points 10, 9, 8, 9, 9, 9, 10, 7, 4, 7, 2, 5, 8, 7, 10, 6, 8, 2, 10, 1 Total Points = 141 Sugababes – Chart 6, 12, 13, 30, 1, 1, 7, 11, 1, 10, 8, 8, 1, 3, 4, 32, 8, 1, 1, 13, 15, 3, 23 Points 5, 0, 0, 0, 10, 10, 4, 0, 10, 1, 3, 3, 10, 8, 7, 0, 3, 10, 10, 0, 0, 8, 0 Total Points = 102 GA definitely the more successful. And GA beats the Sugas in sales too 2,6mill vs the Sugas 2,1. So JRKY, you're wrong i'm afraid, your precious girls aren't the best girl group. GA are <3
