Coldplay (Viva La Vida) was also disqualified from the chart while it was free.

 

BTW I don't understand why the GA songs sell so low on downloads. The Loving Kind was around 12-13, Untouchable only 20 on itunes. They both are amazing tracks (unlike the awful The Promise) but both peaked relatively low :(

it is strange how they seem to be doing bad on downloads recently, but 21k is really good for a #11.

I'm sure it did addition towards as official sales to be honest, Ben - especially since I emailed their management with the promotional link of the voucher and confirmed that it did include to the sales, unless what they have told me is false information.

 

What we have to remember is that 7Digital makes up one of the smallest percentages of downloads, so we shouldn't expect to see an significant difference based on only their free promotional deal. iTunes is still the be-all and end-all of all downloading sites and majority of people download there.

I don't think they gave you false information but in your previous post what I've understand is that the management talked about vouchers in general and not of these specific free vouchers. But as you said they can't be very high sales anyway so it couldn't affect the sales too much anyway.

They speak about vouchers in general, or they've answered specifically to your question but then again I would have confirmed that the promotional vouchers count too (if I were the management) I hope you've understand what I mean :D

I'm surprised it didn't make top10 considering they are supposed to be at their peak now as an active group, Cheryl is supposedly the most popular woman in the entire universe, they are on tour at the moment and it's the 3rd single off the album, not the 4th or 5th. Plus, it doesn't take that much to get into the top10 at the moment.

Without starting an argument, I do agree with this, although it was a good song, it wasn't fantastic and the X Factor was the only reason it went to #1
