Gnarls also remains at Number 2, starting what I am sure will be a gradual decline while the brilliant ‘Somebody’s Watching Me’ from the Beatfreakz reaches a peak of Number 3. The Dirty Pretty Things climb to Number 4 as my appreciation of this excellent track grows, and the sublime ‘Hoppipolla’ from Sigur Ros makes a seventh week in my Top 10. Elsewhere in the chart, Matt Willis makes an impressive debut at Number 6. This is an excellent song, showcasing his strong vocals. I am sure it will be a big hit when it is released later on in the month. I can see where the talent was in Busted! Dannii Minogue continues her climb with the infectious ‘So Under Pressure’ and Chicane rise to Number 9 as I have a renewed love for this tune. Keane break the Top 10 for the first time with their guitar-led new track, Daz Sampson climbs to Number 13 ahead of his performance at Eurovision and the Pet Shop Boys rise by still declaring ‘Im With Stupid’! Finally, a new entry at 20 from Embrace’s World Cup Tune but I think the only feet we are concerned with are Roony’s!! I am really loving the revival of cheesy dance, long may it continue! Matt Willis continues to rise up the chart, moving from number 6 to 5, as do Keane rising from 10 to 8. The highest new entry this week is from Orson. ‘Bright Idea’ has really grown one me over the past 2 weeks, I didn’t think it was anything special when I first heard it, but it has kind of got in my head now! The second highest new entry this week is from Nerina Pallot. I finally heard ‘Everybody’s Gone To War’ yesterday, and it think it’s a very poignant tune. I expect it to do good business when its released on May 22nd. The Pet Shop Boys rise from number 17 to number 13, and the Chilis enter at 15. This is the first week that I have extended my chart to a Top 30, so there are lots of re-entries from The Feeling, Madonna, Corrine Bailey Rae and Gorillaz. There are new entries from Corrine, The Feeling and The Ordinary Boys vs Lady Sovereign, which are all destined to be hits when released.
