Posted February 26, 200916 yr This weekly chart is done under a points system, I've taken the Top 100 Singles and Top 100 Albums and given an artist points for where they appear in each chart - 100 points for No.1 99pts for No.2 down to 1pt. for No.100 Obviously if artists appear more than once then they get points for each time they appear. Once all the points are added up I'll put them into a table and do a top 40 - in the event of a tie the artist who has a song/album higher in the charts comes first. 01 01 Kings Of Leon - 405 02 02 Take That - 316 03 05 Killers - 290 04 03 Lady Gaga - 279 05 04 Beyonce - 254 06 06 Alesha Dixon - 237 07 16 MGMT - 228 08 09 Lily Allen - 224 09 10 Katy Perry - 223 10 08 Saturdays - 209 11 07 Akon - 208 12 37 Duffy - 193 13 11 P!nk - 189 14 15 Coldplay - 187 15 14 James Morrison - 184 16 21 Girls Aloud - 184 17 13 Britney Spears - 181 18 22 Kanye West - 179 19 --- Miley Cyrus - 176 20 34 Elbow - 174 21 18 Pussycat Dolls - 168 22 12 Rihanna - 153 23 --- Ting Tings - 152 24 20 Jason Mraz - 150 25 33 Seasick Steve - 146 26 --- Morrissey - 144 27 --- U2 - 142 28 23 N-Dubz - 135 29 19 Script - 133 30 25 Leona Lewis - 122 31 29 T.I. - 120 32 17 Fray - 118 33 27 Bruce Springsteen - 111 34 24 Ne-Yo - 111 35 26 All American Rejects - 105 36 36 Justin Timberlake - 100 37 --- Prodigy - 97 38 --- Pet Shop Boys - 97 39 --- Shontelle - 95 40 --- Nelly Furtado - 94 So no surprise that this week Kings of Leon hold on to the top spot after the Brit Awards, they not only hold onto the top spot but also break past 400 points, the first time that's happened. MGMT move into the Top 10 and after re-entering at no.37 last week she has a huge climb to no.12! Last week there were a record of 7 new entries, this week that record is broken with 8, headed at No.19 by Miley Cyrus. Artists leaving the chart are: 50 Cent (28) Fleet Foxes (30) Airborne Toxic Event (31) Jordin Sparks (32) Lil Wayne (35) UB40 (38) Eminem (39) Luther Vandross (40)
