A Tyneside schoolgirl earned about £14,000 in just two months by working as a prostitute, a court heard.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named, is understood to have earned more than £1,700 every weekend by working for an escort agency in Newcastle.

The girl's earnings stopped when a teacher found her bag at school, which contained condoms, lubricant and details of the agency she worked for.

The details emerged at a proceeds of crime hearing in South Tyneside.

The teenager's South Shields school contacted police, who took the girl home and the property was searched.

Couple arrested

During the search, in November last year, police found £8,060 hidden in a loft and the money was seized.

Asa Anderson, who was representing Northumbria Police, told the court: "The money was seized after police received a phone call from a school where a teacher found a pupil's bag.

"The bag was found containing certain items."

Magistrates granted the application and the cash has since been forfeited.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "A 44-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of inciting child prostitution and were subsequently released with no further action being taken."

Michele Elliott, from Kidscape, said: "Child prostitution is a hidden problem that nobody wants to talk about.

"The reality is that there are a lot of children out there doing what this child did."

Is this not a shocking state of affairs of our Country in 2009? Or is no-one surprised?

I'm not. Society among young girls today is appalling.

I really don't know what it is, but they just seem to have such a low opinion of themselves, that in turn they think this is actually okay? Maybe it's the popular Urban music of today, which portrays girls as nothing more as...some kind of sex machines and make it seem alright to be like that. Or the fact that girls generally seem to be wanting more adult than they actually are and thinking that downgrading themselves like this is the way to go about it (as Nas says in that "I know I can, be what I wanna beee..." song).

I really can't fathom it, but it is awful.

Bloody typical. That girl earned that cash! Money-grabbing government!

I jest of course. The news treat these things as if they're typical of all society though - for every ten underage school girls working as hookers, hundreds of thousands aren't. It's easy to forget that.

Goes on everywhere

Have read many cases in the press of girls being shipped over from Eastern Europe by gangsters and made to work as prostitutes, many younger than the girl in the article

Slightly different.. They're kidnapped against their wills, this girl actually chose to do this, so I think we seriously need to address ourselves as a society and really start asking rather uncomfortable questions about ourselves....

This doesn't surprise me though, we have a mass media in this country which very deliberately sexualises young girls at an early age, while at the same time we dont teach girls how to respect themselves or have anything like a decent sex education which promotes responsibility (just WHY do these problems seem NOT to occur in liberal states such as Sweden or Holland, no one can actually adequately address this it seems). We see these "stories" in these women's rags such as "Take A Break", etc, one mag in particular ran an article "Why I Want My Daughter to be A Prostitute Like Me", which the editor of Cosmopolitan harshly criticised in a newspaper article, and now here we have an actual story where a schoogirl IS working as a prostitute... Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say that certain sections of the media has encouraged this, but, the coincidence seems pretty big....

Chemical Halo quite correctly points out Urban music also, which is utterly degrading to women when you see how videos portray them... I would also blame groups such as Pussycat Dolls as well who basically seem to encourage impressionable young girls to dress like whores.... Groups such as PCD aint marketing themselves at mid-20s women, they market themselves to girls aged about 11-16......

I see where you are coming from but in terms of the PCD they are aimed purely at a teenage male audience really, look at the PCD forum on BJ completely full of lads, not a girl to be seen, my nephews are PCD mad whereas my niece is into Indie so I do think that PCD is marketed at lads, whether that encourages teenage lads to see girls as nothing more than sex objects is another matter but look further back there has been sluttily dressed pop stars from the time we were kids (Madonna - the biggest pop $l*t ever), Kylie who left very little to the imagination with her stage outfits yet this stuff of teenage girls dressing and acting like whores seems to be a modern day phenomenon so I think blaming it on pop stars is only a small part of the big picture

Thing is, with Madonna it was perfectly clear that she also had a BRAIN.... And that she was a pretty much in control, take charge kind of woman who ran her own business.... The likes of Girls Aloud and The Saturdays are frankly just airheads with no real talent, and "Disney Teen Starlet" Miley Cyrus taking part in dodgy photo shoots which make her appear like a freshly fukked piece of underage jailbait hardly helps matters either.... The WAG "phenomenon" and "celeb" culture is another thing.... And the fashion industry has a lot to answer for as well I reckon with their whole "body fascist" outlook, which again just feeds into girls feeling totally insecure if they're not a size zero or whatever....

But really Craig, how can you now claim that these sorts of "Escort Agencies" are all above board or respectable now (and dont deny that you've made this argument) that it's pretty fukkin' apparent that they're not even performing the most routine vetting procedures to ensure they dont hire underage girls....? I'm sorry, but, er, dont you think that they should have been asking this girl to provide a passport or drivers' licence as proof of age.....? Because I sure as hell think so... I just cannot believe that the filth let these fukkin' NONCES who run this agency off the hook... And, if you ask me, her "client list" should be thoroughly investigated, I dont give a sh"t how many people that embarrasses.. Why has this matter been just dropped by the cops....? Hmmmm, a few high-ranking coppers, local politicians, judges and middle-class "professionals" on this lasses' client list are there.....? Yeah, I just fukkin' BET..... So, yeah, instead of actually investigating a very SERIOUS CRIME, the pigs go off again to harrassing motorists, student protestors and black lads just walking down the street minding their business... <_<

The guy from Kidscape is totally spot on, this is a problem that society just seems to want to sweep under the rug and pretend isn't there.... Disgusting.....

I am totally out of the loop in terms of Escort agencies, when I used escort agencies which was a long long time ago the one I used had very strict vetting procedures, they would not hire anyone under 21, their girls were regularly checked for drugs and anyone with any suspected needle marks were booted off, the agency was run by a woman, of course society has changed since my era and such "companies" are probably a lot more unscrupulous now with who they hire

This may sound bizarre, but I think we should seriously consider legalising brothels, with very rigourous controls and registration processes, ALL prostitutes would have to be registered for purposes of taxes and VAT, regular inspections and vetting procedures, and anyone wanting to set up a business like this should be thoroughly investigated and should open up their accounts to independent scrutiny; any chance at all that these criminal elements who run a lot of these agencies would be willing to do that..? Not bloody likely mate... These brothels would be set up in specially designated areas, inner city red light districts near to pubs and clubs, retail parks, out of town complexes, etc, far away from regular residential areas, this would eradicate kerb-crawling, but for those who did still insist on doing this, very, very severe prison sentences, and a public naming and shaming as a deterrant... If done properly, I really think that this would stop about 99% of the exploitation and stop our country being used as a conduit for human sex traffic.....

The taxes and VAT that the country would get from legalised, registered brothels would be pretty large I reckon....

I would support that 100%

Prostitutiion is always going to exist "worlds oldest profession" and all that, and the best way is to take it out of the hands of the pimps, drug dealers and gangsters that by and large control the industry and have those sort of places with a full life prison tariff for anyone running a prostitution ring that is not licenced

reminds me of that courtney

:manson: :manson:

Anyway. Not surprised tbh, it really is just a society thing.

would that stop it still being undertaken illegally?.....no.

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. :puke2:

I'm glad that not even one of those in my school is a whore. :D

BTW, I want her (the 15 y.o. teen) photo. :kink:

^ :/!

I feel really sorry for her actually, I wouldn't just brand her a whore, personally. She's a 15 year old girl, for Christ's sake! It's awful. It just seems to me that aside from the music genres (YES BY THE WAY, SCOTT! Definitely PCD, they're appalling) girls just are...stupid. This whole situation reminds me of that "Stupid Girls" (?) song by Pink. There's something awfully wrong about girls today lacking aspiration and actually wanting to do something productive with their lives, and think that doing things like this makes them more "mature".

Seriously, my old school was awful for such things. One girl in particular pops into my mind straight away, who used to brag about having some boys' jizz on her after she gave him head somewhere ~rolls eyes~. And the sad thing is, they probably thing this makes them more "popular" and "adult", when they're just downgrading themselves in the most vile of ways.

... and the majority of the time, they don't actually realise what boys are saying behind their backs... :heehee:
