September 27, 200915 yr Forever Is Over was definitely a huge mistake. Out of what we have heard they should have led with Ego, then Wordshaker, then a ballad/midtempo and then One Shot IMO.
September 27, 200915 yr ^ You're spot on. Seriously HUGE mistake leading with FIO. The video is annoying me now even :( It feels cheap. Don't like it until Una's bit kicks in.
September 27, 200915 yr How could they possibly think it was the strongest song? I would understand it slightly if they were doing two singles before the album like with If This Is Love and Up where the latter was clearly miles better. But it's madness having FIO launching the album.
September 27, 200915 yr ^ Exactly. I thought when we heard FIO, we would get a 2nd single. This feels rushed. Ugh. You're both clearly epic flop fans. LOL dont get me wrong I do like FIO but compared to what we've now heard.... Being a fan means accepting the mistakes too, especially the BIG ONES; ie- this :kink:
September 27, 200915 yr Yeah FIO is still a good song but in comparison it is just not in the same league as Ego, Wordshaker and One Shot for me. Edited September 27, 200915 yr by Rain
September 27, 200915 yr Author LMAO tbh I agree with you. From the live performances and the clips, the three songs mentioned do sound a bit stronger. Plus im begining to wonder now if some of the predictions of Forever Is Over having a If This Is Love style chart run could happen. Though I do still consider Forever Is Over to be above Issues, Work and If This Is Love in the imaginary rank of Saturdays singles.
September 27, 200915 yr Lol :heehee: Hmm...I've not tired of Work at all, but I honestly can see myself getting to the "skip" stage with FIO. I really hope the 2nd single works its magic. They are gonna need it I think.
September 28, 200915 yr What worries me is, that the single is out in a week, the album in two weeks. and there has been very little promotion for the single and album, there has yet to be a tv preformance for it, which is really worrying tbh. As it stands i reckon Forever is Over will get to #9 if their very lucky and the album is going to miss the top 20 and possibly the top 30. They will need a major 2nd single and promotional campaign for it and the album to turn this around. It just seams dumb there was a bigger gap between JCGE (start of march) and Work (end of june) than there was between Work and FIO (start of october) :S
September 28, 200915 yr Thankfully I have some faith in them, having seen the promo schedule. They are at least trying I suppose. God Work was a disaster. I still cant quite get over the Ant and Dec performance the night after JCGE at Comic Relief. So absurd!

But it's madness having FIO launching the album.I think they picked it as it was the song which showed they had changed their sound/image more than the likes of 'Wordshaker' and 'One Shot' etc... to show that they aren't one trick ponies or whatever. In that sense I respect them, but like you said it would be a hell of alot better had they released the album on the back of the second single. Also I seem to be the only one who actually likes 'No One'! Not more than 'Wordshaker', but it's my second fave

They started TV promotion yesterday on T4 plus, they've just been on a radio tour. I think they'd rather stay fresh on people's minds than perform the song on T4 three weeks before, then have people forget about it or get it illegally. There's no way the album will miss the top 20. I think it will more than likely sit comfortably in the top 10. If just 1/3 of people who bought the first one get wind of the albums release, that's 35,000 sales right there.. September 28, 200915 yr Few listens and initial thoughts are good. Ego as fabulous as I hoped - Vanessa <3 Wish it was slightly longer than 2.59 but easily overlooked. No One and Here Standing - I'm surprised they are so high up the tracklisting tbh. More like a track 9/10 IMO. One Shot full version I prefer to Wordshaker but I LOVE both. Giving latter half of album a few more listens but LOVING Open Up and Lose Control.
September 28, 200915 yr No can do Scherz. Watermarked so it's impossible. I guess thats why its not leaked yet. Hopefully you'll all hear it soon!
