It should be a massive dance hit for the Belgian beauty. Just because it's in French & not in English is being bias.

This song is a cover of the massive European pop hit from 1987 by French singer France Gall as a tribute to singer Ella Fitzgerald.

I have already had this for 6 months on download.

Where from? I've been looking for it for *ages*!

AATW are behind it...hopefully it can manage at least top 20 though, stunning pop track

How many French language top10 hits have there been? I can only think of these at the moment:

Céline Dion - Tu M'aimes Encore (To Love Me Again) No7 September 1995 11-7-13-22-30-37-

Sash! - Encore Une Fois - No2 March 1997 2-4-4-5-6-9-9-14-15-20-33-38-

To be fair people won't buy foreign language songs if they're not available. We can't make songs a hit if they're never released in the first place.

At least if they're promoted heavily here and they still flop then call it bias, but that probably won't happen ('Ketchup Song', 'Gasolina' :puke:)

I can remember one more:

Alizee - Moi... Lolita (2002): 9-15-23-36-40-51-65-72-71

Three more (that are ancient):

Jane Birkin And Serge Gainsbourg Je T'Aime... Moi Non Plus (1969) 3-{1}-2-4-9-14-20-31-38-43-42-46-49-49

Severine Un Banc, Un Arbre, Une Rue (1971) 45-32-28-11-12-{9}-20-23-28-35-50

Vanessa Paradis Joe Le Taxi (1988) 56-29-14-7-4-{3}-6-20-35-44->10

I forgot that Tu M'Aimes Encore was a UK hit actually :o

wasnt that voyage voyage song a big hit I think that was in french.

OMG, yes, I forgot that! Desireless  The first time I heard (and fell in love with) French music.

Kate has her own version by the way, which may be the follow up to this if it's a hit...

From a Dutch download site

Ahh..heard this song for the first time today. Its a good track but I can't see it doing very well, if I'm honest.

Was 'Dragostea Din Tei' (Moldovan/Romanian) ever a hit for O-Zone?

I have a version by Haiducii which charted:

Belgium #2

Italy #1

Austria #1

Germany #2

Europe #2

France #2

Holland #4

Denmark #7

Norway #4

Switzerland #2

IMO much superior to the O-Zone version

Yes, big hit in the UK back in 2004.

Chart Run: 3-4-5-10-9-9-8-8-10-13-16-18-30-36-49-51-64

Thanks to Polyhex

Here's a late entry

Kraftwerk - Tour De France - 1983/4 - peaked at #22

Was that actually in French? I don't remember... I thought of another though, Plastic Bertrand. OK, he was a Belgian, but one of the very few artists to have two French language hits:

13/05/1978 Plastic Bertrand Ca Plane Pour Moi 8 58-33-19-10-10-9-{8}-14-20-33-47-70->12

05/08/1978 Plastic Bertrand Sha-La-La-La-Lee 39 57-{39}-42-52-70->5

Top 40. Turd of a song.

:P
