OMG!

Smashing sooner than I thought. I knew it'd smash but not at this pace! Number 1 in 3 or 4 weeks please :kink:

Release date moved forward to 22nd June, understandably. Keri must be so pleased, she's worked so hard and tried for so long to get a big smash hit where she's the lead and it's finally happening!

ACE

The video is so LOL though. Kanye squaring up to NeYo. Kaneeha would smash himmm foshiz. I love Keri Hilson lAl <3

So 'Turnin' Me On' has apprently been announced as the next UK single :D!

I for one am VERY happy. I actually hated it when I first heard it. But it just seems to get better & better. It'll be big in clubs and stuff and will probably go down well, when played at parties and shizz.

REALLY can't wait to see how it performs. I really hope it's a big hit for her. I think it'll be pretty decent but won't be TOO big. It'll do better than 'Return the Favor' hopefully.

"MS KERI BABYYY" will be the signature saying throughout this summer I should think ;o

I'm still not sure of Keri's capability as a solo artist. She has one big hit "in her own right", except that around half of it is by two of the biggest male solo stars of the century. I really want to like her but I don't like her stuff outside of the songs she's featured on so far.

EDIT: In a whirlwind of mass contradiction, after watching the video I actually really like this song but I still put it down to Kanye and Ne-Yo and think it's sad she can only score a hit with a big name holding her hand.

'Sad'? Oh dear. There's no proof that she can't score a hit on her own as of yet... but to get big-name features on your song isn't lame, it's savvy. If it propells her career then why not? It's much better than prancing around naked or recycling the backing beat from past smash hits (Hello Bey with 'Diva') to get a hit. Keri has nothing to prove anyway; she's written hits for numerous big names, puts on a performance when she sings (always live) and is surpassing sales expectations.

Well yes, it is savvy scheme, but how good is it going to be in the long run? Until the album she was known as "the girl from the Timbaland songs". Then she released ANOTHER Timbaland collab as her lead single, followed by a collaboration with Kanye and Ne-Yo with song with Lil Wayne being released third. She certainly isn't doing much to shake off the tag already attached to her. She wont be taken seriously as an artist (rather than a writer) until she makes it big with a song on her own.

Unfortunately, the best songs on the album are all collaborations. "Alienated" might have an outside chance, but it's a bit subtle for release.

For those who are fans of her songwriting. She hasn't turned her back on that at all apparently. Here's what The Prophet blog says...

Although she's riding high on the charts with her hit singles "Turnin Me On" and "Knock You Down", the overly confident Keri Hilson isn't about to put her pen down and turn her back on songwriting, with E News revealing that she's set to head into the studio with Chris Brown for his new album "Graffiti".

"He contacted me like four or five days ago," Hilson said earlier this week during a promotional appearance at Wet Seal in L.A.'s Beverly Center Mall. "Us working together will probably be the first project I've worked on as a songwriter in a while."

This isn't the first time that the pair have teamed up before, with Hilson penning "Young Love" for Brown's debut album, as well as featuring on his flop single "Superhuman".

And what does the dime diva have to say about Brown's situation with ex-gf Rihanna?

"It is unfortunate what they are going through, but I always feel like if you've ever had a fan base, you're really only one song away from appeasing that fan base," she said. "Whether that song is autobiographical or whether you want to talk about that or not, you're just one hit song away. And that's what I think of the industry in a nutshell."

Keri also spoke about her thoughts on "Turnin Me On" collaborator Lil' Wayne getting model Lauren London and singer Nivea pregnant at the same time.

"I'm still kind of hoping it's not true," Hilson said. "I'm a face-value person. I won't believe it until I see it."

Damn, Miss Keri baby is really killing the game right now, she's everywhere! She worked hard for this though so I respect that she tried to make things happen instead of just sitting around. I really like her now, she's trash though with her over-confidence but it's pretty funny so I don't mind now, it's always good for a laugh. Musically she's really on top and I'm loving not only her album but all her features to. I wouldn't say that she's shot the sheriff just yet but who knows what the future may hold for her? Oh and I can't wait for Breezy's new album either!

Shame it's wasted on Chris Brown tbh. He's obviously never going to be a proper success again.
I really love this song, Keri Hilson is very talented girl and and an amazing singer!!

Please :heehee: He will. People love a good scandal. When the news broke about the 'attack' his songs began to re-chart on iTunes!

I suppose. But some stations did refuse to play his songs etc so I dunno. If he is a hit again, then fair enough but it seems like a waste if Keri wrote for someone who isn't going to be successful again.

OOOOH! She's performing at this year's BET Awards!!! :D

Isn't that decent-ish promo?! :o

Album set to get a new peak in the UK charts this week.

Number 24 in today's mids! :D
