April 4, 200917 yr A good improvement IMO. The creature was rather more bealivable but a few bits and pieces were not needed (the litle girl and Connor in prison). Helen Cutter is getting annoying, i hope this is her last series. They also have too many characters IMO, last week Jenny was hardly seen and this week the same can be said for Laila Rouas's charcter.
April 6, 200917 yr Tonight's episode was great, but next week's looks fantastic! It was an improvement, but still doesn't match up to other sci-fi/fantasy series' of this type....
April 12, 200917 yr I think last night's episode was one of the best, but it was ridiculous that they killed off Cutter. ^_^
April 12, 200917 yr The series is definitely improving episode by episode, but there are still too many instances of lazy writing. Cutter asking Connor to just "sit with me"...in a burning building? None of the others questioning whether they had seen the real Cutter die, given they all knew he had a clone wondering about the building. It's going to be interesting to see how the series goes from here. On the plus side, Douglas Henshall wasn't the best actor, I really didn't rate his dying scenes; Andrew Lee Potts was far better. On the other hand, it's difficult to see where it can develop. They've lost their leader, their base, and presumably most of their equipment and research just got blown to bits. It's difficult to see who'll replace Cutter. Connor and Sarah seem to be the only characters with any significant scientific knowledge, but I just can't seem them becoming the new lead. Judging from the preview, I have a horrible feeling that they're going to bring in the moody cop from last week, which really would be just a tad too implausible.

Yeah, I don't want that cop to come in to it, but he has been confirmed as a main character. But looking at the preview, Connor and Jenny were shown most, so I hope they would become the leaders if anything, since they are both really good characters.
April 13, 200917 yr Yeah, I don't want that cop to come in to it, but he has been confirmed as a main character. But looking at the preview, Connor and Jenny were shown most, so I hope they would become the leaders if anything, since they are both really good characters. I've just seen a new cast promo shot where the new cop is right in the middle at the forefront, basically taking Cutter's place. I don't mind the cop coming into the show in itself as a backing character; I just don't like the idea of a complete newbie coming in and straight away becoming THE main character (particularly when the character is a failed cop who has no expertise whatsoever in the fields of dinosaurs, holes in time and space etc.) I know Primeval has huge inconsistencies and plotholes, but this would be one too far. Oddly, Jenny wasn't in the shot at all so not sure what's going on there...
April 13, 200917 yr It's improving week by week i agree but there are still major flaws with the episode. The cop becoming lead is worrying tbh and with Jenny absent from the picture it just gets worse.
April 14, 200917 yr I don't like the cop's character, Primeval seems to be getting worse recently. Jenny better not leave as well.
April 19, 200917 yr UGH as I feared, the failed cop IS going to be the new lead character :( I'm glad those journalists got their comeuppance though.
April 19, 200917 yr Are the only reamining characters left from the beginning Abby and Connor? =/ I need to catch up with Series 3 so much.
April 20, 200917 yr ^No there's Lester aswell. Jenny was techincally there as Claudia aswell (have they completly dropped that now that Cutter's dead) They better not kill Jenny though, she did very well in the last episode. But what is the point of the new girl (Sarah?) played by Laila Rouass anyway, she's done f*** all since the first episode ended. Abbi has a cute brother btw
April 20, 200917 yr But what is the point of the new girl (Sarah?) played by Laila Rouass anyway, she's done f*** all since the first episode ended. I know, they should kill her off instead of Jenny if they are planning to... :puke2:
April 20, 200917 yr No, i dont want them to kill her off, she seems like a good enough character it's just that i dont see the point of making her anything else other than a guest star if they're only going to stick her in the background and give her the odd scene.
April 20, 200917 yr It seems they are killing all the major characters off, leaving Abby and Sarah, as if they having a major sweep of the whole series. Why is Helen still in it though, Cutter is gone now.

But what is the point of the new girl (Sarah?) played by Laila Rouass anyway, she's done f*** all since the first episode ended. Abbi has a cute brother btw Laila Rouass is being massively underused, but perhaps that will change if Jenny does get bumped off? I think the Jenny/Claudia may have been dropped, although to be honest Jenny has gradually morphed back into Claudia anyway. It seems they are killing all the major characters off, leaving Abby and Sarah, as if they having a major sweep of the whole series. Why is Helen still in it though, Cutter is gone now. Because although Helen was most closely linked to Cutter, they've devloped her position as the lead villain too much to just drop her like that. There's still far too much about her goings-on that hasn't been explained yet. And plot-wise, it wasn't just Cutter she's out to get. She said last week that the Arc was responsible for creating the future monster things, so presumably she's also going to have to find a way to get rid of Connor, Lester, Abby etc aswell.
June 15, 200917 yr Author ITV have confirmed its been axed today. They left it open for S4, could have told them so they could wrap things up a bit better! How fking lame.
