Last week we got 8 in the 10, 15 in the 20, 26 in the 30, 37 in the 40 on the Album front. On the Singles everything went perfect apart from missing 2 Eminem songs (one that wasn`t available last Monday). In total on the Singles we got 9 in the 10, 19 in the 20, 27 in the 30, 38 in the 40, and 48 in the 50. Absolutely brilliant work, to Peter, and John! Back in April 1981, Radio Luxembourg came up with the following: 01 04 CHI MAI (THEME FROM THE LIFE AND TIMES OF DAVID LLOYD GEORGE) - ENNIO MORRICONE 02 01 MAKING YOUR MIND UP - BUCKS FIZZ 03 02 GOOD THING GOING - SUGAR MINOTT 04 05 EISTEIN A GO-GO - LANDSCAPE 05 03 NIGHT GAMES - GRAHAM BONNET 06 07 AND THE BANDS PLAYED ON - SAXON 07 17 STARS ON 45 - STARSOUND 08 06 LATELY - STEVIE WONDER 09 08 WHAT BECOMES OF THE BROKEN HEARTED - DAVE STEWART/COLIN BLUNSTONE 10 09 THIS OLE HOUSE - SHAKIN`STEVENS 11 10 ATTENTION TO ME - THE NOLANS 12 11 MUSCLEBOUND/GLOW - SPANDAU BALLET 13 18 BERMUDA TRIANGLE - BARRY MANILOW 14 12 IT`S A LOVE THING - WHISPERS 15 13 JUST A FEELING - BAD MANNERS 16 14 INTUITION - LINX 17 15 NEW ORLEANS - GILLAN 18 16 IS VIC THERE - DEPARTMENT S 19 19 WATCHING THE WHEELS - JOHN LENNON 20 20 MAKE THAT MOVE - SHALAMAR 21 27 HIT AND RUN - GIRLSCHOOL 22 26 ONLY CRYING - KEITH MARSHALL 23 21 CAN`T GET ENOUGH OF YOU - EDDY GRANT 24 22 AI NO CORRIDA - QUINCY JONES 25 23 I`M SO HAPPY/TIME - LIGHT OF THE WORLD 26 24 KIDS IN AMERICA - KIM WILDE 27 25 D-DAYS - HAZEL O`CONNER 28 NE DON`T BREAK MY HEART AGAIN - WHITESNAKE 29 29 MIND OF A TOY - VISAGE 30 NE LOVE GAMES - LEVEL 42 25 in the 30 for Radio Luxembourg. They did not include either The Jacksons (Can You Feel It), or Madness (Grey Day) on their playlist at this point. So, both not in the top 30. CHI MAI was actually a midweek number one in 1981, so they weren`t that wrong. STARS ON 45 struck as Holland majorly played tribute to the Beatles...but somehow The ARCHIES got in there! Surely some mistake! When ever the disc got airplay in 81, that bit of track was edited out. SUGAR MINOTT got the reggae feel going, as did EDDY GRANT. A rather a big build up of Rock...leading to GRAHAM BONNET, SAXON, GILLAN, GIRLSCHOOL, and WHITESNAKE. The bit of trivia that eludes many KEITH MARSHALL used to be one of the singers with the 70s group HELLO, of "Tell Him", and "New York Groove" fame.
April 20, 200916 yr I want the Trashman to go to #1 :D the most obscure hit of 2009, one that I never saw coming...
April 20, 200916 yr So we could be looking at up to 6 or so new/re entries to the top 40 this week! The obvious ones being Keri/Timba, Prodigy, Asher Roth and Tinchy/Dubz and some underdogs being Jackson 5 and the Trashmen! :o
April 20, 200916 yr I want the Trashman to go to #1 :D the most obscure hit of 2009, one that I never saw coming... Was it really just on an episode of Family Guy? If that is the only reason, it's doing incredibly well... Thanks Dave
April 20, 200916 yr Depeche Mode & the Noisettes!  Who the flying If U See Kay is buying an Asher Roth album? Edited April 20, 200916 yr by Scooby Dooby Doo
April 20, 200916 yr Supposedly the whole album is better than I Love College... he actually said so in an interview I read. I'm actually warming to him slightly...
April 20, 200916 yr I want the Trashman to go to #1 :D the most obscure hit of 2009, one that I never saw coming... Where did this come from anyway? Has it been featured on TV? I'm guessing it has.
April 20, 200916 yr Where did this come from anyway? Has it been featured on TV? I'm guessing it has. TV Series: Family Guy, check iTunes thread for more info.
April 20, 200916 yr TV Series: Family Guy, check iTunes thread for more info. That surprises me, it's not usually the sort of show to make songs hits. But whatever it's good to see the power of TV working like this.
