What is happening with Ugly Betty?

i believe they are on hiatus atm but are coming back next season.

What is happening with Ugly Betty?

No word on Ugly Betty yet.

ABC have barely confirmed any shows for next year so far. So they'll probably be waiting to see how they do through the Sweeps (big ratings period) which start tonight I think.

Ugly Betty is coming back with a few new episodes to end the season soon. There was a commercial on ABC recently advertising the show and saying new episodes were coming soon! :D I'd think it was still bigger than all of the other shows they're canceling so I hope ABC renews it!

EDIT: new episodes on April 30, May 7, May 14, and a 2 hour finale on May 21!!

I really hope Ugly Betty returns for a new season, its great, although my favourite characters have gone downhill this season.

Smallville renewed is ridiculous. It was great in the first 6 seasons, season 7 started good but soon became crap. The current season 8 is a total disaster, plus 3 of the main characters Lana, Lex and Lionel arent in it anymore except for guest appearances. Season 9 will suck big time.

Pleased for Brothers & Sisters and Supernatural. We all know Lost is coming back for its last season. As for Heroes, it really needs to pick up cos I'm losing interest, they seem to kill off all the great characters.

Any news on Grey's Anatomy?

Pretty sure Grey's Anatomy is safe and not in the danger zone. It's still one of ABC's most watched shows. It returns tomorrow with new episodes! :D

Oh and I just read that ABC's Dirty Sexy Money, Pushing Daisies, and Eli Stone are all returning in the summer for 3 or 4 episodes to finish out their final seasons.

Ugly Betty has been confirmed for a 4th Season I believe.
NOT RETURNING:

Pushing Daisies - ABC

I thought they announced several months ago that there would only be two seasons of it.

Shame - 'cos then ITV could have shown it, but drop an episode because of the World Cup.

plus 3 of the main characters Lana, Lex and Lionel arent in it anymore except for guest appearances. Season 9 will suck big time.

Who need Lana when you have Chloe?!

So ABC have not confirmed Samantha Who? then :(

Looks like it might get the chop...

80s TV series MacGyver starring Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate SG1) will be hitting our TV screens again, its been given a green light, lead actor is yet to be cast.

Well since Bionic Woman and Knight Rider remakes have bitten the dust, I guess this will go the same way.

Also Battlestar Galactica spin off series Caprica will be airing the pilot in September, with the new series to follow early Jan 2010

Heroes:

Expect shorter seasons of NBC's struggling sci-fi show from here on out; how will this affect its two-volume seasons?

Word has already gotten out that NBC will be bringing back Heroes for a fourth season, but things may look a little different when all is said and done. NBC is looking to cut back on the episode count of Heroes when it returns next year, says Adage, citing the economy and a growing trend of shorter seasons.

Heroes had been the beneficiary of a super-sized season this cycle, with 25 episodes ordered by the network. But that should trim down to 18 to 20 next season, as NBC's one-time love affair with Sylar and buddies has faded since a worrisome ratings drop-off and the economy forces networks to cut corners any chance they get.

While this would simply mean less hours for a normal show, Heroes likes to do things a little different. The show squeezed two independent mini-seasons (called Volumes) into this season, one taking 12 episodes, the other taking the remainder. It's unclear whether Heroes will try a two-fer with fewer episodes next season.

The notion of a shorter season shouldn't be too surprising. Cable loves to go with shorter seasons for its original programs, and major networks have been experimenting with shorter seasons for their broadcasts. Personally, I think many dramas--particularly serialized shows--suffer creatively with longer seasons and I welcome these new truncated seasons with open arms occupied by tubs of popcorn and remote controls.

Samantha Who:

ABC decides to pull female-skewing comedies from lineup a week before scheduled; Motherhood may already be done.

To those of you out there preparing your In the Motherhood finale parties: stop. You're a week late. ABC has decided to pull both In the Motherhood and Samantha Who? from its schedule, which could signal that both shows are being shut down for the rest of the season.

The two shows are being lifted in favor of a Grey's Anatomy repeat; ABC thinks the Grey's repeat will work as a better lead in for this week's new episode of Grey's Anatomy as the medical drama winds down its season.

In the Motherhood has had a tough road to primetime, with its initial order cut from 13 to six early in its production. ABC then decided to pass over the show's sixth episode to bring back Ugly Betty early. Today's move means that In the Motherhood will only get four episodes aired; the show is not expected to return next season.

As for Samantha Who?, the shortening may just be a break. There are still over half a dozen episodes left in the season, which could be saved up for the summer or for next season, if the show gets picked up for a third cycle.

I'm pretty disappointed they pulled Samantha Who? this week. I was still expecting it to come on tonight but the Grey's Anatomy repeat came on! :( It's bad enough they decided to pull it from airing an extra week but at least Ugly Betty is coming back a week early.

I didn't even realize there was still six episodes left of Samantha Who?'s season! :o I hope ABC decides to air them in the summer since there is never any interesting shows worth while airing around this time. I still think there is a pretty good chance this will get renewed!

I completely love SW? - I find the writing really witty, and love absolutely every character, and that so rarely happens for me. Andrea, Dena and Regina just amaze me
Who need Lana when you have Chloe?!

I dont like Chloe, far too "holier than thou" for my tastes. Still, she aint half as bad as Lois, who's face will be all over Season 9
